Anyone out there know if I could replace my Climatronic dash panel to the type that has the ECON button on it....... my current unit only has AUTO or OFF, the latter turning any kind of ventilation off all together. My VR is a 1995 model, currently doing the 'flashing all the digits on the display for 10 seconds thingy'. Any help appreciated. Dave

During my once a week underbonnet check I noticed that my expansion tank level was a bit low, and as the engine had cooled down enough I proceeded to remove the cap, after a small hiss of pressure I realised that there is actually a small split in the seam of the expansion tank (the seam which joins the top half of the ball to the bottom half). It's only a small leak at the moment, but gonna get a new expansion tank (anyone know where from apart from main stealer? I do remember having the same problem on my Mk1 GTi cabby! Dave

I've made a mistake and bought some INXX ones, they turned up in about 4 days, problem is that they supply 2 bolts with each strut (the ones with a ball at the end), one self tapper for the wing fixing and a fine pitch stud for the hinge end fixing. The problem I have is that the hinge end bolt ain't big enough, I've contacted the supplier and they tell me that they are the correct bolts (I think they have supplied M6 threads, where I think I need M8 or M10, can anybody clarify this with me, or are some VR6's different sizes to others. Cheers Dave

Looking good fella..... where did you say you got the coils from?
-
Zorro - they look well good, nice to hear you got something out of the suppliers due to late delivery! One thing I can recommend is that new 'Cap-plan' Nanotech wheel protector..... got some from Hal-frauds (bout a tenner), get them protected now while there still dead clean (this stuff stops the dirt sticking to em, the rain even washes the muck off). You just spray it on - leave it for a bit then buff it off if needed. Dave

Nice looking specimen, did you get a ggod price on the KONI coilovers..... i'm wanting a set for myself? Dave

I've got 17" 112 on my VR and most people comment that they look good, what size you gone for..... I got my 17's fitted with TOYO Proxes for £542 delivered.....and 6 months 0%. They will look the bol**cks on a black car..... my VR is silver but I'm happy enough with them, looking at coilovers next Dave

TSW Kyalami's on a VR6
deviousdavey replied to deviousdavey's topic in Wheels, Brakes, Suspension and Steering
The guy was on about the small lugs on the sides of the calipers fouling on the spokes of the alloy? Dave -
Any of you guys know if there's any problems fitting 17" TSW kyalamis onto a MK3 VR6, guy at the wheel shop seems to think that they will catch on my calipers?? I'd try them on but he lives in Manchester and I'm in Cambridge. I did want to get some BBS RC's (17"), but they are working out a bit too pricey. As always any advice is appreciated. Dave

Anybody know whats needed in order to check/clear fault codes on my 1995. I have seen software and leads for sale on Flea-bay, but not sure if they would work or not. I have a laptop, and I think an error code on my climatronic (when the car is first started it flashes all of the displays for a bout 15 seconds than it's OK. Just a bit annoying more than anything. :^) Cheers Dave (m)

Hello guys, just wondering if any of you people might be able to help me out with a copy of the ETKA disk? I've got the bug and want to replace a few 'bits-n-bobs' on my VR. (x) Any help appreciated, obviously I will be willing to cover any costs. (mo) Ta Dave

Can anybody offer any advice on my problem.... I bought a lower glovebox for a MK3 from flea-bay, after romoving the little shelf below airbag, offered up the glovebox only to find that it won't fit!!! Miles to big! My question is, are there diifferent sizes, it appears there is lots of stuff in the floorwell area that stops the glovebox going all the way back (My car is fitted with climate, not sure if this matters?) Any comments appreciated? Ta Dave :-(

My renewal is due in October so it'll be intresting to see what they quote me..... I currently pay about £250 fuuly comp with the Mrs on it also (i'm 30), car is standard in every way..... so far!! I joined on the 16th June, how long does it take for the welcome pack to be sent out? Still not had mine yet Dave :S -
I'd have one..... if it was like my dad's!! He's taken his to GTTuning in Dorset and they've increased it to ~250bhp (6) , and it eats the 210bhp for breakfast, along with a couple of TVR's when I was driving it. :-# Only problem is when he really canes it the fuel consumption drops to between 8 and 12 mpg!! The only reason he doesn't mind is cos it's just his weekend toy... lucky bugger! 8o|
