  1. Ferries are usually pretty good with cars on the floor. I do Le Mans every year and there are pleany of exitic old and new that run low. If it helps get the guys out when it goes on Juts take your time over it. They have a special lane/ramps etcetc for low cars, wide cars high cars etc..... Always worth getting there on time also so there is no you just have to go where it fits kinda thing... as you're that last car on
  2. Car = 1997 VR6 5door Company = Adrian Flux Age = 38 Area = Watford Occupation = Engineer YNC = 8 and some points tooooo Modifyed? = Hell Yes and all declared - Charger/lowered/zorst/........ Categories = FUlly Comp Price = 575 Notes = 5000miles but remember you can expand it as you go. Also not gargaged
  3. If you're going to get a kit with the lenses then I think all would agree get the best camera you can! Pop into a good shop where you can chat to someone on them and actually hold them. Some just don't sit right when you hold them. Fat fingers/too heavy etc etc etc I now it's a high street name but if you go into Jessops and find a quiet-er time then the guys usually know their onions. Always ask if you can speak to the person who uses them and knows about the specific products. It may mean you have to go back, but as you're spending a good ten pounds it's worth the effort. The reason I
  4. That's where I got mine eh Sparkz
  5. If you just drop your car by 25-35mm then 15s still look ok and work absolutely fine. As said they are standard so no issues there. If you go lower then they can get lost. It seems to be generally accepted that 16s are a good balance of ride and handling and 17s are for looks I'm on std and 30mm lower and have no issues at all other than the odd large speed hump when more than 2 up in the car.
  6. If you're after power then as said Rotex is the way forwards. BUt remember it costs more and you will need to get internals etc done for the power. If you want jsut a little more then V9 works very well and there are a lot of people with them. What are you trying to achieve???? that is the question
  7. left when you look at it I.e the drivers side???
  8. I thought they could just be switched off!! With the key or something!!!! Obvious I know but have you checked your service/user books???
  9. usually under the battery tray. But a pig to see. If you have a local installer pop in and ask if they can help you find it. Wont cost you anything...
  10. worth checking but there may be a limit on when you have to report the incident by. You don't have to persue it you just have to register it...
  11. If you place something which wot conducts on the end of the connector and then super glue. A bit heath Robinson but it'll work. The glue is not a conductor so need to place something to act as one. Try and make it look right as it helps electrically.

  13. well worth getting the alarm and timer set up. Plus looks cool when you walk away and the car tucks itself up at night! It may be worth getting an import as well. this company comes well recommended by lots of Jap car owners sites... www.japcar4u.com if you register with www.skylineowners.com they give you a password to the jap markets site. But remember the insurance hits you as it is an import. There is a good thread on the owners site for the import process and costs associated to this. Worth a read for research if nothing else! Some (NOT all) sites are not as friendly as here so rea
  14. If your heart is set on Jap then there are other options for the same money.. RX7, Early Supra, Scooby, Skyline etc etc.... The question is more about what you want. For the same money you could get an M3 and play or you could build a Lancia Stratos (Hawk HF3000) or you could get the starting end of the Golf R32 bands... You could get a sorted classic car...... e-type,Austin Healy,MG,etc, etc VAG, you could Quattro UR,Rallye and the turbo/VR6 it etc etc So, what ever you do; do your homework. Join an owners site and get/buy one with history and understand the running costs. That price brack
  15. Oh and anything else I should be looking for at all??
  16. Well, I have reached a stage where I really have to put all my music off the old home PC onto an external device. looking in the 100Gb size. So should I just pop into PCWorld and pick any old thing up? Or is/are there a recommendation? Extra Memory or hard drive or well what ever else you can think of for me. If you have a link that would be even better Fixed size or expandable etc etc etc Let me have your thought(s) Ladies and Gents Cheers R
  17. I got bored after the process... Does it say how much he paid..???

    not sure PM Sparkz...
  19. there are a few threads in the premium members sections on installation and MAF/No MAF etc etc etc. I if you join the discounts come in handy.. On a personl note do it, do it now...... you can always upgrade from stage 1 as funds become available. As you increase power you need new injectors and an intercooler becomes a requirement once certain levels are reached. Cheers
  20. Just to add to/re-enforce the debate. Remember that the TDi are actually quite similar in many ways to the VR6. They are not the best off the mark (Not Slow) but once up and running the tourqe(ies) come out to play. For example the new batch of 2.0tdi only have 150-170 BHP but push out 350-400Nm. If you look at the spec sheets they are faster than the vr. It is just a VERY different driving style (Much more relaxed). The big thing you'll miss is the sound! If you can find a good deal then keep the VR for the weekend/occasions and have an oil burner for the rest of the time. I wouldn't wo

Is it worth changing the title a little and/or adding a forum link button.??? Whilst not a problem per say.. (Posh eh ) it may help the newer guys N gals figure it out What d'ya think????
