  1. you get stage 2 for free as it were at the moment because of the exchange rate £2 to $1 Yay... There are a couple of stickys talking about this and tuning etc.... look in the engine tuning section at the top. Do the chains! Also becsue of the extra stress look at your water pump and alternator. the new belts put a lot more strain on them so they can fail/follow quite quickly! You have to run the charger in so take a trip to Stealth to run it in and then enjoy the trip back via the fast road Just do it soon you'll wonder why you waited

Brakes should be ok for 250-300bhp depens how you drive Exhaust wise you will need 2.5" all the way through and a CAT for the charger so you dont eat it regular like ! or DeCat of course. Temperatures run low enough to run without Cooler and Water if you just do Stage 2 however you build in reliability with lower temps so..... the oil cooler helps.   11. You can use that as a sub standard work (Not fit for purpose) and ask them to complete it to the expected level. You can report them to VW and use VW headoffice complaint procedure. VW may help you especiallly as you are a member of an owners club and have "a wide circle of friends". The stealer must inform you of the escallation process (ISO9000).   12. Yes they make a huge difference. The extra heat eats the CATS so you need to be ready for that. Yes you can add as you go/funds allow. As with all these things the sooner the better In the premium section (Costs you £10 & the best you will ever spend) there are walk throughs.   14. Well wheels and suspension are a given you may have to play with the offset and arches a little more if you are going low. I've seen nuff surf wagons on the deck. Not sure on a charger but may be worth a look at a std one and see how much room you need. I figure you may have to get the pipes made but thats still only gonna be £350 & £200 for a high flow CAT. can give you some names if you need let us know how it goes.   16. Interesting..... If I read it correctly then you only get a fault code generated if all are retarded. So you can have an individual cylinder retarded and not know about it. Well if we assume that the 2 cylinders next to the charger (heat source) are retarded then that would still run and just have the power (kinda) of 4 not 6 correct?? until the knock count comes down then all would be back to normal. I dont suppose you have a running log do you to see if a couple or more cylinders were altered...???? Do you use this car only as a track day car??? I was wondering if you get the issue if

  18. MMmmmmmm that all sounds as it should be. (except the last bit ) With it still being smooth it does sound like it is being controlled correctly .. Can anyone else confirm for us if the engine has a kinda safe mode when knock gets too high??? If it does what does it do???

    I have had a chat with the Phirm and Stealth and e by gum there's a difference in price. £170 and 2 hours labour from the phirm and £270 and 4 hours labour from Stealth...... Bit of a shock that.... Both are branded.... I think the Phirm one has to be the right option.....
  21. rather than whip the head off -- check your compression and if you can get the use of one of those sniffer things you use on the expansion tank (checks for CO2) then that may save you some work or at least confirm... Are you using water at all??? Speaking of water i just reviewed a little.......What is your mixture in the aquamist and does it run always or only come on at certain pressure??? Also how retarded is the engine running?? (could be on the edge and is detonating premature if you see what I mean...)   22. Great to see some progress being made Just sort of thinking out loud here so bear with me. When the heater is turned on it takes heat from the water system which would indicate that the water is running hot. That said the numbers on the PC sound great. The fuel goes in at the front and the heat source is at the left (AS you look from the front) and the rear.... The water is taken into the heater matrix on the right rear (AS you look from the front) so this would still hint at temperature still being the cause.
