  1. Some other power sapping options for you (In no Particular order)..... Are you running hot? Have altered (retarded) the timing?? Is your MAF Plugged in or is it MAFLess?? Have you got the correct Pulley??? have you got the correct injectors and regulator??? Is your CAT Sensor (Lambda) working??? Are you running High Octane fuel??? Have you cool PLugs in (mk2 ones)?? Is the system installed and air tight??? Is there any restriction on air into the filter and is it drawing cool air??? Is the belt propper tight and not dragging on any pully edges??? are you driving with the hand brake on I hop
  2. must admit I am thinking about that as my next ermmmm "toy".....
  3. You seem to be developing a hate list of the best possible kind. I too feel I may need to add my name to that list... Looking very Tasty before you added the go faster bits...........
  4. As mentioned 2 things to check... 1st is make sure you are bled and have good fluid and levels... After that if you have just had both/or discs and pads replaced remember you need to bed them in so if you have cooked 'em they'll be pants with a capital P and you will be replacing them again...
  5. Well two thingsI have had in my life. One was cheap S**T tyres where the tread had actually shifted and was therefore unbalanced. The second was a well dead bearing and disk combo - obviously had some sound to this tho' !
  6. good luck cleaning..............LOL
  7. running 262BHP 223ft lbs on a std one happily at the mo!
  8. there are some links and info in the premium section on this also best way forwards is to have a chat with the people who do it rgularly... There are others but I know Sparkz who does them for others and not just himself!... Worth dropping him a PM and buying him a soda & a burger at the next meeting he makes... Sorry to offer you up Sparkz... Figure you must be bored as your working on your own mk2 & a group Buy LOL
  9. traditionally the car runs like a bag of spanners if the MAF sensor is dirty... Happens more freequently on charged cars... did you Clean the MAF? - link on here somewhere also the lambda could add to that...Are you CAT free?........again they go on charged cars.. What plugs/leads/coil you running?? All those symptons can be attributed to items like this... As I understand it there is no way other than to have the remap software hooked up to tell what is happening signal wise..... Vince @ Stealth is always worth a call if none of the normal things work.. I add these as it is always easy to g
  10. I have also heard tell of issues with warranty on the chip and who installs it as once touched warranty void so take care Also of ECU going pop due to mismatch of technology...... Remap is £350 at Stealth. Always worth speaking to IbiVR and Sparkz to name but a couple on here who have done or are in the process of.... for some guidence on direction. Mind, I think they went standalone on theirs... Also seem to recall another guy iin the premium section doing a kinda build with pictures who should be able to help also... good luck
  11. I think it's 10% but obviously GSF is just one of the many........ If not a member its' the best £10 you'll spend...

  13. keep your eyes on this site as well. there are always some up for grabs on here and that usually means a better chance of a good one and you'd be suprised how low (relative) some of the miles are....
  14. I personally like to know that both sides are reacting the same way so what I do to one I do to the other. If the pads were siezed on the disc check disc condition at the same time. Easy enough job once you get the bolts out you snap off few threads on here about them worth doing a search... purchase wise usuall suspects if premium member then GSF discount is always good!
  15. as said check the fuses and switches first off.... the idle might just be plugs and injectors rather than MAF or the likes... Assume you're gonna give it a service anyway that should help...
  16. start with the basics..Shcks and springs. Then revisit with Bushes, ARB etc etc once finance is back on track, People always forget that shocks are consumeables like pads and oil
  17. some more on it........ http://cars.uk.msn.com/News/car_news_article.aspx?cp-documentid=4964580
  18. au revoir, bon journey !
