  1. Well personally I would start with the mechanicals that impact others like... engine mounts, bearings, chains oil and HT etc... Then move onto the cosmetic areas. You may find doing the mechanics solves other issues by default as they already have some impact! TBH you can do most of it yourself if you have the space and location.... Just pick a nice day if outside
  2. Ok so I dont want to hijack the other thread so I'll ask on this one. Sparks, Whats the coolmist then. I havent come across any one chatting about that????

  5. Funnily enough I am just about to buy the aquamist for my new VF s/c stage 2 . which kit did you go for??? and which display kit???
  6. do you actually have to let the car warm up on a winters day or does the heat from last night keep it warm? More power needed - isn't the aim white hot ??? LOL Looking good. Any hance of videos as it would be good to see it in action! Well done!
  7. Ok so why the rear and not the front???? I would expect the front. Rotational motion of engine and pulling force on the front - hence bonding issues! Why the rear then is it a recoil of the compression force??? What am I missing???
  8. if you have a read on aquamist site they explain the uses for their solution. Also a bit of info on the suppliers of their kit about the differences. I did think it was partially covered on the DIY turbo link but havnt read back. Have a look as they are helpful for info
  9. Soak everything in WD40 or oil the night before they will be a tad stiff... Good Luck and take a swear jar
  10. The height will effect the set up - more if you are setting it up for negative camber etc. (It is not a huge difference as you can appreciate) It is good practice to set it as you intend to run it as differing angles have differing effects - simple maths and physics. Dont forget to run it bit first to let everything settle before you adjust it. Get it done at a 4 wheel laser place and get the cast and camber set. Those places usually have either very low ramps or the ramp in the floor. so ride height is not an issue. As mentioned they actually locate the equipment to the inner lip of the
  11. In the words of Hong Kong Fuey ..... Mmmm Could be .... I Will be fitting my new s/c in the coming month so was gonna replace engine and gearbox mounts.... got my quote from Vibra and thier recomendations as follows: We make both Fast Road and Competition mounts but some people prefer to use Comp mounts on the road - and put up with the extra harshness. However what we have found is that VR6 is not too harsh with a Comp front mount. Stealth regularly fit Comp front mounts to VR6's. Therefore we would suggest using a Comp front mount (especially in view of the mod you are intending to carry ou

  15. Only advice I can give. If u r doing the comute thing get a sit up and beg not sports bike. (they are easier to balance at slower speeds) SV650 is a belter as a step up. Put a pipe on so you can be heard and better bulbs so you can be seen. Nothing wrong with the orange bikes just have to service em a lot. Motos are all about wheelies from the lights! Also a bit high for my short legs! If you have any motorway section after market bubble helps with the deflection of air and driving rain. BMW GS are good options as shaft drive and heated everything just costs a bit. I perfer twins as the
  16. interesting how some can do 0-60 and then pants 0-100....
  17. Not allowed one anymore ............
  18. I hope you don't mind my 2p worth and I dont mean to teach anyone to suck eggs here. I have found in my past (with much older cars) that issues when on load are generaly caused by a few main things like Spark and Fuel. I see you say spark is there. Is it a good strong spark as on load the demands are greater so if you swap the pack and leads that will remove that from the equation. If not them then return to the Motor Factors and you know you are generating a good spark and there is no degeneration of insulation, short circuits etc.. (on a car with carbs this sounds just like the condensor
  19. well when my time comes I will be looking for a nice mk2VR. (Until R32 available in my range) What does your heart desire ??????
  20. you can get an aniversary TDi also which goes and looks good as you is havin to work hard that way you can fuel and chip It! (they're Rare tho') I think the advice on from VR Mofo is good as when you earn some more you can play with the Gti Anni 180BHP! and the parents will see it as just a Gti hope that helps
  21. Sorry man......... Good luck and eveyones thoughts will be with you - I am sure. Use the car as therapy to work through it! Have friends who have been there and it helped them! (hope that helps in some small way) Nothing else we can Say other than Sorry!

  23. Earwig, A lot of manifolds are USA made so therefore Left hookers and do not fit on the engine of a car with the steering wheel on the correct side! The only bit of advice I can give is buy whilst the dollar is strong! Prices are similar-ish, as long as you are below 280/300BHP and it seems that generally the turbo, is a slightly more in-depth install process (so costs more - unless you do it all by yourself). The s/c is bolt on with a remap (in simplistic terms, as there are other things to think about like Auamist) There is enough support on here to help you achieve all from both options a
