  1. Ok so I'm looking at a VF system in the new year and I thought I'd work out the savings if we can buy from USA. Using the numbers below straight off the VF main site 3500 USD for stage 1 United States Dollar 1 USD = 0.5111 GBP = 1788.863 GBP Great Britain Pound 1 GBP = 1.9566 USD So thats £1800 rounded plus taxes which I seem to recall was 20% so that makes £2250 less £126 sale discount currently makes £2124 - Obviously shipping is to be added Are my figures correct??? As that's almost £700 saving which means you get stage 2 for free when compared to the price on your top site!!!! (Sta
  2. http://www.vf-engineering.com/ this is the direct site in USA. worth checking as Dollar is with you and on sale - don't forget to add taxes and shipping
  3. I know that quite a few peple are always worried - asking questions about what is the best exhaust and what about the sound of their cars when they buy new pipes for them. Well I found this on you tube and thought it may be worth other people who have othe types popping their sound bytes up also. To help others It's not very exciting

    Crazy Arabs

Don't know what to say about that really.... *-) RIP those blokes that were spectators !!!!! (s) I did look at some others and was amazed how bad some of those crashes were! Like you said not so much skill as out of control
  5. Everyone has good things to say about the sets listed previously. On that budget I would go for the Koni kit 220 bucks ish! You wont get the arb for that tho - you need another 200 for the arb set. Koni is a good brand and has a good reputation. good luck and there is a fitting guide in premium members section should you need it
  6. Sooooooooo Impressed by that!
  7. Was surfing and found that the VF have 250 of your American bucks off their chargers etc! Also with the dollar/Sterling strong in our favour - It is almost like getting them half price.... Worth a thought maybe http://www.vf-engineering.com/index.php?v=/kit_vw_mk3VR6euro.php
  8. Fair comments all. I would ask this though. Who else has built a car that is beyond the capability of the roadgoing public and so had to withdraw it from the planed production. I admit I am not a fan of the bodykit. But I bet it's a hoot n a half to drive...
  9. unless stripping to bare metal dont waste your cash as people will run away when time to sell. So stay original unless going te whole hog. As always just my opinion
  10. It's finally for sale - so should I sell the house and buy a tent??? I can't see her understanding really & it's not THAT expensive - for it is it???? (h) http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/The-Unique-TVR-Cerbera-Speed-12-247mph-880bhp_W0QQitemZ130056300705QQihZ003QQcategoryZ108780QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  11. Generaly chains and tensioners are changed at 100k. They are on the left side (drivers) of engine hidden away behind a cover. Not too big a job really, and no you don't need to change everything! Check with the guys on here for advice on what else is a good idea whilst you're there. As for what to look for its actually what to listen for. Set 2000rpm and listen for the rattle. If you can use a screwdricer and hold to your ear and chain cover. You can hear them. There is a link on Premium section to help and a sound bite also. Good luck
  12. Well done and I think I speak for all saying very Impressive and the thread will help everyone who is thinking of this! Also thinking for all those who will follow your lead could you stick a simple shopping list up for the bits you used just to help the inexperienced like me. As there are a lot of pieces that sort of crop up along the way once you've bought a basic kit. Once you have been and had the final bits put in. Wots the chance of a little film clip-ette just so we can see and hear your new baby in action :-p Again I must say an Inspiring effort well done and I to can not wait
  13. the numbers that pop up regularly are 24 Urban and 34 Long Motorways at steady ermmm Motorway speeds. Getting silly round town and 17 seems a recurring number
  14. there was one on ebay I posted the link as it looked right. check the for sale ebay link even if its just for the picture It was the vw type hat fits on the bonnet support
  15. The lottery and world piece
  16. A lot of the guys do have Miltek etc and all seem to enjoy them. There are other threads on here which will be worth a read as they cover others experiences! http://www.longlife.co.uk/ I will be loking at these also (Longlife) as they also come with a lifetime G and you do not have to have it serviced yearly. Also good qulity 2inch Tig welded systems. Have alook and see where you go! It is always down to personal preference at the end of the day
  17. I must admit I did think of Lunar Space technology when I saw that. Wasnt enought Gold/Bronze coloured foil yet tho' Must say very Impressive Keep going
  18. they were a factory fit option (before required). Quite rare really. you dont see many mk3s with them.
  19. Cheers I started another thread so as not to detract from this one on the FAQ idea
  20. Not sure on the price for these bits but worth downloading a brocure or popping in to GSF and they can run through it with you for the parts & prices. I get them to swing the screen round so I can see the picture or the exploded views! I don't have a bently pic I can let you have I am afraid. Once you've got your list you can surf for good deals. As the guys say. Check your compression to start with then move on to the top end if all is well. If you are a high miler then look at the usual suspects on the top end. Worth thinking about the shims/belts(chains) and tensioners whilst you'r
