  1. cant afford too, as much as i'd like too. studentsville, population 1 lol thats on the bay now, i hope it goes cos the bearing is annoying me and i've only had it for 2 days! ha ha
  2. needs a little bit of tlc (will have to wait!), i'm not a fan of the wheels, and it really needs the 6 pot that i've now come to love after 3 years of togetherness! lol its like sitting in a go-kart, and i really cant believe how comfy it is. couple of niggles, but its not exactly a new car. the seats are mankey, will take some before and after pics tomorrow
  3. couple of pics before the weekend of cleaning and scrubbing begins.. (sorry if the pics are too big) Mod: Easily fixed ;-)
  4. ha ha! i know what you mean, it's been there for the past 2 years, and i didn't put it there and don't know how to change it! lol spent most of the day cleaning it, going to wetvac the seats at the weekend, but after a wipe and vac inside it looks loads better already. cant find the power for the aeriel though, so i'll have to make-do with cd's again til i fit the ipod connection. needs a wheel bearing on the rear too
  5. i feel a lot better now =) got her last night, interior needs a major clean but i cant believe how red she is! not sure about the wheels, and you'll see what i mean soon as i get some pics taken and posted (i'll do a before and after clean)
  6. sorry, but we all know my vr died after hitting a post on ice, and the insurance had me over a barrell and payed peanuts (barstewards) and i cant find/afford another vr, however i have found a nice corrado with the inferior 2l 16v motor. i know its not a vr, but i like the friendliness of the group members and i'm glad to have had my name on a vr6 v5 document i will get another soon as i graduate from uni (i'll be 32 then!) lol
  7. mine has died, but the love continues =)
  8. been and had a look at a 16v today, was well impressed with the drive and handling, interior is a bit mk2 golfish. and it needs aquavaccing. other to that it looks a pretty good car. my position at the minute is putting me off getting it, and ploughing the insurance money into getting the golf fixed instead.
  9. my mate had a mk2 valver years ago, was forever calling it 'the rolf'
  10. cheers karl sounds like an urban myth then so to speak? its not a 6 pot tho, i cant afford one as they are going for a lot more than the insurance paid out (and i'm a very mature student at the mo with a mortgage and that!) which is a shame, as i'm addicted to the noise that comes from under the bonnet
  11. i've got a golf vr thats just been wrote off, thinking about a corrado, but i've heard so many things about 'box problems and leaking sunroofs, can anybody shed any light on what to look for when buying one? also, reliability, the golf has been excellent the 3 years i've had it, how do the corrado's compare? cheers fella's =)
  12. i refer to mine simply as 'the beast'
  13. plug extractor tool is on the bonnet arm rest. or at least mine is =)
  14. i got almost the clock in mine, quite a while back now, but i think the slipstream from the porsche i was behind helped a bit =)
  15. saw one for sale earlier, can't remember what site tho! d'oh!! if i can get enough cash together, and can find another one then yep, i will indeed. if not, it'll be a gti =(
  16. free? they wont pay for the repairs and it's logged as a cat D, so i just want rid to make way for another asap. i've looked at my options so far, and concluded i have no space to break her. either way its a shame
  17. all of it! its all black bar the a,b and c pillar as they are grey along with the headlining, the seats are black or very dark blue cloth (i'm colourblind!), carpet is in good condition as i have mats, rear seats are like new as they are rarely sat on. i'll try and get some pics up for you ben
  18. it is, and its gone, along wih the wheels! gotta be quicker than that! lol anything that might be of interest? =)
  19. some may or may not know, i slipped on ice and damaged my car, insurance is waiting to pay out, i'm keeping the car but do i;
  20. been an update... insurance have given the go-ahead at said repairers, and i'm not so sure the end result is going to be how i want it to be. anyone had this before? any advice welcome
  21. oh i will do. did it with a cosworth few years ago. only thing is, i think they want to fill the dents with bog, and the bottom of the door is seriously bent. its a blessing in disguise as the rear 1/4 has got a bit of rust and 2 small dents from a hit and run type accident where the other driver failed to stop so i could catch the bastard!!
