  1. I have had problem after problem with the fitting of my Jetex exhaust. I had it fitted by a local garage as they are a family friend and normally very good. Since the exhaust was fitted last year it has been back to the garage several times due to knocking and blowing and I am now, over a year on, completely fed up and looking into fitting a standard system. Before I spend my hard earned I have been told that there are several common fitting issues. That one of the boxes can be fitted the wrong way round causing a gap between the front box and the cat (I have a spacer pipe fitted that I am als
  2. Looking good, reaaly like the wheels
  3. You did have to use a pic with my wheels in!!lol I think the car looks great, Gives me something to work towards in my own way.
  4. Do you mean the stuff between the stone chips?! I forget what colour my car is most of the time! Going to buy some wheels as soon as I find something i like, and it's all your fault!!
  5. I was happy with the way my VR was comming on until this car parked next to me at Bristol Volksfest!! Looks great, lovin the wheels!!
  6. Well the pic of my car has proven I need some wheels!! Looking at some modern lines, watch this space!! Only at the show for Sunday, had a great time and good to see some smart cars.
  7. I have the standard system with tail pipes welded on, looks good but sounds standard. I'm going for a jetex next month as they arent much louder but just give a really nice tone. All the best!!
  8. Hi all, I'm looking into getting a new set of wheels and really fancy the Keskin Kt1's in 16's. I was goin for a 7.5inch front but have the option of goin for a 9inch rear. Love the idea but want to leave the arches as vw intended. Is this possible or should i just go for the 7.5 rears to match the fronts? Hope you lot can help!!
  9. It could just be a build up of crap on the hub face as you've had the wheels in storage for a while. Only takes a small amount to set the wheel off and cause this kind of problem.
  10. I'll be there on the Sunday and will try to get the Saturday off work.
  11. As all the others said, I paid £3000 two and a half years ago for my 5 door Highline with 74K miles on the clock. They're a great buy as you get a lot of car for the money but not so good if you want to sell. You'll never get what the car should be worth! :-(
  12. Good point, and I still have no idea why it's an insurance group higher! Loving the Vr as always Mike, it's always that clean! That's why I never park next to you at work!!
  13. Thanks Mike! I'm looking into getting some HID's fitted as well and thought that having the adjusters fitted would make life a little easier. I managed to get all the parts needed from flee bay and the whole lot cost me £30 including postage. Fitted and working in an hour!! There's no need to take the bumber off so was a lot easier than i thought. The loom for the switch was in place, just the connector tucked back into the foam. The drivers side of the motor loom was a little bit of a fiddle but with all the lights and air box out wasn't too bad, no need to jack the car up.
  14. Cheers for the reply, looks like it's something I'll be trying in a month or so! All the best with the work and let me know how it goes.
  15. Car's looking good. I'd go for the colour coded centers myself, of have them polished. What springs/shocks set up are you running? All the best with the project
