Try puting a jump lead between your negative battery terminal and a good clean bit metal on your engine. could just be a bad earth. although a vacum hose wouldn't cause to much probs from a small pipe far away from the manifold but if its a big leak it would cause the idle to be irratic. check the brake servo pipe and inlet manifold gasket but it sounds like an engine management problem to me.
  2. thanks guys. ive sent them back. decided to wait a couple of weeks till i have enough cash for a set of bbs. F*ck it its only money. will post some pics when its finished. gearbox is going to have to come out soon to do the timing chain tensioners and i'll change the clutch (while am in there lol. end up doing everything). is it worth the money puting a performance clucth in???? thanks again. 187.8 bhp craggsy if you dont mind me asking. what you done to it?
  3. hi all. i'm a newbie. for 2 weeks i have now been the proud owner of my new '97 golf vr6 black leather on black. always wanted one since they came out new. being a mechanic to trade as soon as it was sittin in ma drive i started ordering parts. eibach springs badgeless grill little eybrow thingys and a set of 18" inovit dtm gloss black wheels. 5x100 et40. firstly they took what seemed to be forever in turning up. but they were worth the wait or so i thought opened them straight away car on a jack woohoo new wheels. then to my horror when i tryed to put them on the car the front brake calipers
