gti is like the original badge of all, VW never copyrighted it either i like gti's as much as VR's, they are so much more than just an engine

people say around 100,000miles, but VW say they will last the life of the engine, its not the chains that break, but the tensioners crack and fall to pieces as they are plastic mine is on 140k, i bought it on 130k and its not had chains done. Is a case of when they become noisy imo, i've heard of VR's doing over 200,000 on original chains and tensioners. i only asked about headwork as some of the Vr's i viewed before mine that had had the chains done has also had the lifters and valves done too

i had a valetter come and do my car, this is his write up, there is a bit more but no sure if its gonna clog your forum up. Let me know if this is too much I was booked in to do a full detail with paint correction on this Corrado VR6 today. The main reason for calling me was the damage on the bumper seen in the pics below caused by a dog trying to fetch a bottle from under the car! After claying the car though i checked out the paint and it was in really good condition so instead of machine polishing the whole car i talked it over with the owner and went with SRP to just bring some shine back
