I'd rather camp. It won't be cold. Surely? I mean' date=' look at it today .... [img']http://www.cat.nildram.co.uk/Images/snow.jpg See you at the hotel.... Cheers, Andy
-
It's 10-15 minutes from one end of the campsite to the other. The nearest building (not including the GP track grandstand) is a good 20 minutes walk away, I think. Cheers, Andy

I'm going for the hotel :-p Cheers, Andy

Damn! I've not booked mine yet. Lucky really, considering I will be in a different car. Cheers, Andy

You kept that quiet! You lucky git! Cheers, Andy Oh, I'd thought I'd mentioned it. In the Ring Haus' MK4 TDI whilst I was waiting for everyone to arrive on the Monday morning. I did get a mention, or two, in his Easter write up, although I'm down as being a Belgium biker and a flagger. I wasn't there on the Monday, so that explains why I'd not heard. How could he think you were Belgian? You don't sound Belgian! How was the Ringhaus TDI? I'm probably going to get a rental at Easter, but I don't know whether to have one of the Rent Racecar cars or use something that Ringhaus have. Che

Cheers mate that sounds great not worried about it being fast would just be nice to actually have a look round it before tackling it in my car !! must remember to pack a helmet as well then. A helmet is recommended, although none of us bothered last year. If you want passenger laps with people you don't know, most will want you to wear a helmet. Most people on the ringers forum will take you out for a lap or two... Cheers, Andy

Actually, the buyer has dipped out, so I've still got it. It'll go by Easter though! I'm thinking about one of the 325s or an M3. Should be fun! It's less than £500 for a whole day in an E36 M3, or just £300 for an E36 325i. Bargain! Cheers, Andy

Bollocks. You can't learn the track from a computer game. Having said that, you can learn which way the track goes from it. After 50 laps you'll know which direction the track goes, and you'll recognise the corners when you get there. After 100 laps, you'll be comfortable. Don't whatever you do think that you can learn braking points, entry speeds, turn in points or even apexes! I'll be doing another 100 laps on Forza Motorsport before we go to refresh my memory about which way I'm going. It's realistic to the point of you knowing where you are, and for that I think Forza is great. You

No problem. I'll probably do a lap or two in the 330d, so you can jump in with me. It won't be a fast lap though, as I can't risk the car because I don't get paid if I can't drive to work. I'm planning to rent a track car for a day over there, so there's only one spare seat in that. I'd prefer passengers in my 330d to wear a helmet, and in a rental it will be mandatory (rollcage). Cheers, Andy

I'm hoping to, but it depends on my work schedule. I'm also thinking about competing in Rad am Ring 2008, which is another 24 hour race round the 'Ring ... on pedal bikes. Cheers, Andy

Just treat it like a country lane you've never driven before, and watch your mirrors and you'll be fine. It feels like a rollercoaster when you do it quickly though. Cheers, Andy

Nurburgring for dummies. Have a read, especially those of you coming for the first time. As it were. Ahem! Cheers, Andy

Details, man. Details! They're clearly all turbo nutter cars. They've got nothing on my diesel Ford Focus though :-p Cheers, Andy

Sadly, there's been a change of plan. I am still coming, but it will be in a diesel motor. I sold the BMW today to fund a new daily driver. Fortunately, my new daily driver is a BMW 330d. Those of you I couldn't beat in my 1600 Focus can breathe my 204bhp diesel fumes this year! :-p In all seriousness though, I may just rent a track car when I get there. Cheers, Andy

I hit 127mph on that ski-jumpesque road we went down. I'm sure the 3 pairs of skis, snowboard, and a week of skiwear helped get me to that speed! The compression at the bottom was worse than the foxhole. :-| Cheers, Andy

Now with the correct dates ;-) Also note that VRSick is having his stag event organised at the 'Ring for that weekend. I am led to believe that there's a strip joint in Adenau Sweet! a 1/4 mile as well as the ring.. i'm definately in! and so's my work crew!! and a few other mates.. i'll book the van and trailer for the ferry now' date=' then i can decide on the car nearer the time, and if ne one does a pete, we have an alternative option!! cant wait guys [/quote'] I'm not sure they allow you to rev your motor on the strip Actually, can you take a van and trailer on Speedferries? Cheers,

I like to equate him to Schumacher. It makes me feel otherworldly. Kind of superhuman. Cheers, Andy

You mean ? The lap was about 10:12, which I thought was pretty good going for a 1600cc diesel estate. I reckon I could get the car under 10 minutes, but I reckon a good 'Ring driver would get about 30 seconds quicker than that. As for the BMW, it should be capable of a similar sort of time, but I doubt I'll get below 10 minutes. It's a bitch to drive on the limit, and I'd rather come back with the car (and my wallet) intact than try for a quick lap. I realised last night that the BMW is fast in a straight line, but it's so nervous that I think it's no quicker than the Focus poin to poin

I have two camcorders, and a selection of mounts for the car. I'll be welding up a mount for getting video of the occupants, and I'll try to get something rigged up that's not obvious for a bumper cam. I'm also thinking about one of those GPS data loggers, but that depends on whether I can find some software to overlay a rev counter, speedo, G-force meter or whatever from the data. :-d Cheers, Andy

Form an orderly queue... Perhaps I should do online booking Cheers, Andy
-
It mainly boils down to not being able to see over the dash, smelling unburned petrol, being severely overheated, and the driver being unable to drive in a straight line! The only fuss is Adrian who is such a wuss he won't lift-share to work with me when I take the BMW. Pansie! You're welcome to a passenger ride, but as I should have a full cage by then, I'd suggest you bring a helmet. I may have a spare, but I may not. Cheers, Andy

So glad I'm not bringing my wife. She's terrified of sick. Really. A proper phobia. Anyone who is susceptible to chundering should probably not get a ride in my BMW around the 'Ring! Cheers, Andy
-
We've been lucky. I had an awful trip earlier this year. Sick bags on the tables ready for us' date=' and I was close to chunder the whole way over. Cheers, Andy [/quote'] Don't say that, it'll put people off. Donna for one. IIRC she was feeling bad on the way back last time and the channel was virtually a mill pond. Pah! If you can't do the ferry crossing, you'll never cope with the Foxhole! Cheers, Andy
