just to let you all know that i tried the mirrors today and the plugs are they same so they should all work fine. so if anyone wants to fit them then they can just need to use the mk3 baseplate cheers

they are adapting the base plate from the mk3 mirror i was just wanting to know if it was possible to wire them up to work properly

Hi there car is going into bodyshop to get painted shortly and i was wondering if anyone knew how i could get the mirrors from a mk4 fit a mk3. the bodyshop will be able to fit the mirror but is there a way for the wiring so that the mirrors work any ideas would be great thanks J

i have found the problem to be with the passenger side loom it has fixed all the problems and everything is working as it should thanks J

i dont know what it is do you think it could be the door loom as when i press button at drivers side to put passenger side window down it doesnt go down either, except the driver side has never worked tried the switch there also and no difference

currently my passenger side window is not working all the time sometimes the window goes up with the button other times it doesnt. i have tried a different switch and still no result. does anyone have any ideas what to look at thanks J

i have had the car for a while now and have never figured out why they dont work. i have attempted to change the bulbs and it doesnt work. is there anything else that could cause it not to work. let me know if anyone knows thanks J

I have found this part sitting on top of the ecu does anyone know what it is the cables came out of it and i was just wondernig what it was so i can get it put back in. let me know Moderator edit by: PeterVR6

Looking for somewhere that will sell an induction pipe that i can join my bmc onto from throttle body any ideas would be helpful thanks J

what do you mean just the pump working its sounds just bubling dont know what would cause the fans to come on so much plus they seem to only go one speed as well i have not long chained the temp sensor on the cars as this got the fans working. thanks for your help

HI there this is an add on to a previous post as i was having problems with the coolant system and found that the fans were coming on a lot and that there was slight bubbling sometimes when i switched the car off. does anyone have any ideas if it could be something else the engine temp never seems to go over 90 either. thanks again

HI there i was wondernig if anyone could help me regarding bleeding the coolant system. my golf currenty has an air lock in the system after changing a heater matrix and have heard slight bubling at times and noticed that fan is on more than i would expect. can anyone tell me how to do this as i want to get it solved quickly so i dont do any head gaskets in or anything like that. your help is appreciated

I have recently bought a manifold from someone nad the other day i went to fit it it wouldnt fit. i removed the throtle body and put it up beside it and mine was smaller and the overall of the new manifold seemed bigger. I was just wondering if an obd1 manifold would fit obd2 car. any help would be appreciated thanks J

when i was driving home from work tonight realised that when i pulled down my street i went into second gear and the car hesitated to pull away. does anyone have any ideas it was really wet and maybe water could have got into something. unfortunatly the last time i tried to VAG com my car it couldnt be done cause its a conversion does anyone have any ideas thanks J

im wanting to polish my manifold i have some autosol does anyone have any tips on how i can do this to get that great shine some people get.

I have recently changed the thermostat on the radiator and the fan is working now but i have noticed that sometimes the fun continues to run sometimes even with the engine off. sometimes i can hear like water bubling but i think thats just the coolant system if anyone has any ideas please let me know thanks

sound like the fan relay module is it a retangular box with 2 plugs on bottom and 2 fuses on top under a plastic cover ?

I have recently put in a Vr6 engine from a P Reg highline into my K Reg GTI and everything works apart from the MFA. i noticed that when i installed it there was something that sat ontop of the ECU and it had the wires pulled out of it. i didnt know what it was and where the wires went so i didnt plug it in. is this the suspect i dont think i have the temp sensor at the front either but i want to get it all working does anyone have any ideas. again thanks for all your help so far guys cheers

yeah this is what i had to do my mate who works for VW had one and managed to borrow it from his work so the steering wheel is all fitted now cheers guys

so what bolt will i take back as they are quite expensive. im going back on monday and have ordered a oil seal mine is a P reg highline engine code AAA let me know thanks and ill take the relevant bolt back and hopefully exchange it for the seal thanks J

I have just purchased a Steering wheel boss and it doesnt seem to fit on my car it does say on the box that you need to remove a bush and it looks like if you take the metal bush part off that the boss will fit does anyone have any ideas on how i can get this on really wanting it fitted thanks for all your help so far guys great help

going back to VW i already have the rocker gasket as its leaking so was going to change anyway so i take it i need something else apart from the oil seal is the upper tensioners right do i need these both. let me know as im going back to collect more parts tommorow and want to change whatever needs changed and order up everything else. thanks for your help

Hi there i have just got back from vw with my timing kit i have received 8 things my car is an obd2 VR6 engine code AAA the items were Guide Piece 021109469 Guide Piece 021109513 Tensioner 021109467 Tensioner 021109509E Tensioner chain bolt 021109507A Timing Chain 021109503D Timing Chain 021109465B Tensioner chain Bo 021109507B this is all i got if there is anything else required please let me know as im about to try it out at the weekend and want to make sure i have everything before hand. thanks again
