  1. Fair do's. I can see why it's a fecker to install! Bah. Back to the think tank! Cheers anyway Jay!
  2. Hmm. A little bit of searching came up with this:
  3. Hello all; Just been browsing another forum and someone is selling a Corrado G60 with a new Eaton supercharger and claims this is an upgrade to the G40 and G60 supercharger. The author of the thread is pretty sound and knows thier stuff so I'm inclined to believe them. My question though is: Has anyone tried an Eaton charger on thier VR6? They seem to be pretty common and relatively cheap! Cheers! Adam
  4. Think I've just creamed myself............well done!
  5. K, that's 3 places now. Someone know for real? I wanna check mine too!
  6. Mine pops like hell too on gear change and when I let off the gas. Only thing I've got is a cat back exhaust and a BMC. Thing is, it did it before too. Bit worried to be fair. Quick query, possible nothing: Whats the black squareish object that sits just behind the TB? It's got air hoses going to it and mine seems to be making quite a loud hissing noise. Is this normal and just due to the air rushing through it? Could be the source of an air leak.....
  7. Er, mine idles at 500 rpm too. think that's the speed it's supposed to idle at is it not?
  8. Hi! Anyone have any experience or recommendations for painters in the West Midlands area? I need to get my Dusty Mauve Golf down there ASAP as I'm getting annoyed with the condition that the previous owner left it in! Cheers! Adam
  9. Cool. Now then, need to start building up my turbo parts list! Know any good manifold suppliers?
  10. Ah ok, it sounds like it could be ok then...... MIJ's High Flow CAT's are 3" as standard I think. Would it be an option of going for something that size and then have it step down to 2.25" where the middle box is? Or should I go for a smaller cat?
  11. Yeah I've got a middle box, so in theory it should be quiet enough anyway? Been to speak to the owner of MIJ Exhausts in Walsall and he's aggreed to swap the middle box for a 2.25" one FOC. He's adement that this will quieten it down and that I should still have no problem installing a turbo. He even claims that I should see some improved torque lower down the rev range. I'll keep you posted.
  12. Hi! Just had an exhaust custom made and fitted, and I asked for a 2.5" system to be installed as opposed to a 2.25" as I'm planning on going turbo, however the noise from the exhaust is now pretty deafening, and until I get the turbo on it's going to be pretty unbearable to drive to be honest, so I was toying with the idea of installing a butterfly valve just before the backbox, a bit like this one from Oz: http://autospeed.drive.com.au/cms/A_2291/article.html Just wondering if anyone's done this or has any useful info about it? Hi performance cars like Lamborghini Diablo and Ferrari use them
  13. Any clue as to what the whine actually is? I have this too.......
  14. Either that or Bahn Brenner may be a good way forward at the moment as the Dollar is so weak. The prices for charger and turbo kits are pretty respectable, and are cheap in comparison to UK kits, even with delivery! Unfortunately they don't do a supercharger kit, but the twin screw charger unit alone costs only £920. A fully comprehensive turbo kit comes in at £1600, with a stage 2 upgrade kit costing £560. Delivery is about £100. Don't know about import duties though........
  15. Ah cool. Was just a bit concerned as the missus Astra doesn't "steam" half as much when started! Cheers!
  16. Hiya, Just wondering if anyone elses exhaust is proper steamy in the mornings when the engine's first started? It dies down after a bit. Also smells really fuelly too, but I know that's normal for warm up purposes to a certain extent! Cheers! Adam
  17. Stealth will replace your chains and clutch (May aswel seeing as the gearbox needs to come off) for £750 +VAT
  18. Only reason I ask ingham is cos sparkplugs.co.uk tells me to buy BKR5EKU plugs. I take it the "P" in BKR5EKUP stands for "Platinum" then?
  19. Are BKR5EKU plugs the ones to go for if you've got an ODB1 Car?
