Hi, does anybody know where to buy a new maf meter for my 97 golf vr6. after discovering that my throttle body was completely covered in oil from the crankcase breather i thought it would be a good idea to clean the rest of the system including the maf, i now wish i had'nt bothered!! ive managed to snap the small chip in the maf making the car run bad and use even more fuel!. ive had one price from euro and they quoted me £180, but that may have been for the earlier vrs, anybody got any ideas?

hi, Anybody know where i can get hold of a crankcase breather for my 97 golf vr6. It's the small diapham unit which is to the left as you look directly down at the engine. My local vw dealer want £100 just for a new one. any ideas

Hi thanks for your reply- the problem doesn't clear when it's warmed up and yesterday I had a look to see if any of the leads were loose and got an electric shock from the coil pack area while the car was running! I checked for splits and things but all seems fine...

A month or so ago, my golf had a full service which included new coil pack, leads and plugs all round. The car also had a new air filter and the idle control valve was cleaned too. The car was running fine until we had all that rain recently and i was forced to go through a small flood!!!..at low speed. Since then the car has a low down splutter, or flat spot at around 1,200 rpm which wont clear!! any ideas?

Eibach spring nightmare
P262YUD replied to P262YUD's topic in Wheels, Brakes, Suspension and Steering
Thanks for that. The garage that carried out the work for me said there was no adjustment on mine, but there has been on other golf's that they had lowered in the past. Mines on a p plate, any late changes to the suspension set up? -
After having my Golf VR6 lowered i have encountered problems with the camber, the front wheels are now sticking outwards slightly at the bottom, enough to make the car skittish. Have tried tracking, different suspension caps and am now running out of ideas. I am pretty sure that my front standard shockers are tired. Anybody out there?.....

Eibach lowering springs

Thanks for that, will have all bushs checked out. would new standard shocks help?? -
Hi, I have recently had my golf vr6 lowererd using the Eibach lowering springs. The drop was by 30-40mm. The front end does not seem to have dropped and the camber of the wheels point inward at the bottom, making the car skittish. i've tried having the tracking done, but no difference. Any ideas?
