yes it does..... if your bay is empty already. Dropping out the old subframe and bolting up the newly built one is a doddle. What i did with my one conversion was completely build it up before bolting it on. New wishbones, bushes were bolted to it. Uprated ARB and new PAS rack. With the use of a trolley jack i got it lined up and bolted it on in no time. With the 280's assembled aswell they then mated straight to the wishbones and the struts. I used 8v driveshafts with the conversion and before i new it was back on its wheels that day. Stef

If you dont mind me asking, where did you get this short runner manifold from, and how much do they retail at. Also do you know if there is any advantages over this one than the Schimmel one. Thanks Stef -

mine is OBD1 even though it has a coilpack. One of the biggest giveaways is the throttle body OBD1 There is also a link/thread on this forum that has all the details between the two engines etc stef

thanks.... yer i'm well pleased with the torque figure to. I don't no why it came up so high. You can really feel it aswell, it pulls a lot smoother than the OBD2 lump that was in my white one. All i know is the original owner of the passat that the engine came from bought a brand new block and head and rebuilt the whole lump, so i can only assume he did a bit of head work. It made it into the mk2 with only 39k on the clock :0) Stef

I've had her for nearly 2 years now, bought from my mate after he had just built it so i ended up with a very well sorted conversion. Its a 2.8 out of a passat, corrado rad, 280mm brakes, hydraulic clutch, vibra front mount, fully polybushed, Eibach ARB's, VR6 spec suspension, full magnex with decat pipe. As for the rest of the car it looks pretty standard, different lights front and back, still using my mk2 clocks so it looks original and a set of G60 edition blue electric recaros. It made at Stealth 196.2 bhp @ 4993 rpm 210.2 lb ft @ 4026 rpm This is my last mk2 VR,

Also are you adding a resistor to the 12v+ wires as on Vortex thats what they reconmend so the MSD's dont over heat themselves with your set up? People have been using 1 or 0.8ohm set ups. stef

Any more news... have been looking into MSD's for a while as there is alot of peeps on the Vortex forum that rate them? stef
