Golf syncro RHD Supercharged

Hi, jase Next I want to fit a short shift kit but not to sure which to go for (still looking into it) and might get some spacer for the rear wheels although that goes against me not wanting to add unnecessary weight. but not big plans for the rest of this year. next year hopefully more power and lose some of the weight. vr692- As for the induction kit I think I got it from awesome gti a couple of years ago but I’m sure there not made anymore so you might have to look for a second hand one. -

There are two silencers on my system including the back box. Yeah running 18s, need to really as the cat bypass catches on speed bumps as its so low because it sit under the drive shaft. Was running 16s but just too low and was catching everything, could have raised it as I have coilovers but wouldn’t have looked right. Still catches on really big speed bumps but very rarely. -

Are these wheels a good idea? (Opinions please)
stuartvr6hi replied to stuartvr6hi's topic in General Chat
Wish I kept the azev but recently changed to 16" mercs I need 17s because on 16s my 3" exhaust right where the cat bypass is catches on speed bumps and up and down drive ways etc, I could raise it as I have coilovers but i think it would sit to high on 16s and look odd so need 17s -
Hi Need some input, been looking for some 17†wheels for a while and found these. There reasonably light and don’t cost the world and because I am going for more of a track car than show car think these are the ones for me. They need to bee 17s because ground clearance issues. Yeah its still a syncro, i am considering a heldex conversion but if i do convert it, it won't be for a long while. As for how it drives, off the mark there is loads of grip. As the rear wheels engage it feels like an extra push from behind you definitely notice the difference. -
yeah currently i'm doing a fair few short runs so maybe its that and i'm not losing any coolant. cheers stuart

Hi guys I have a vf stage 2 supercharger kit on my vr and removed the cap on the oil catch tank and there was a small amount of creamy looking stuff. Anyway I removed the black sponge in the tank and the bottom of it was covered in cream. And inside the tank was a really watery looking clear oil. So I sucked it out PICTURE BELOW and there was loads of cream at the bottom of the tank. Am I right in thinking the head gasket is on its way out? There is no cream on the dipstick or oil cap. The water level has been the same for ages Please help Cheers stuart

sparkz- Not the best pics but hope they will do. Paul1982- Pretty much spot on to what I want to do. I don't think I’ll be doing to much more this year (got made redundant today) apart from the odd bits and bobs. One day hopefully I’ll have it all done. -

Paul1982- I might go for some merc wheels for show and something thats a bit safer for the daily drive and track. As for the body work, in the future carbon bonnet, wings, boot, smooth bumpers and audi door handle. but not for a while. I've got loads i want to do, inside as well but its a long term project. sparkz- Units 10 & 11 Nobel Square • Burnt Mills Industrial Estate • Basildon • Essex SS13 1LS Tel (0)1268 727256 • Fax (0)1268 590772 • Email sales@haywardandscott.co.uk I'll try and get some pics of the pipe over the rear been by the end of the week. -

Finally got round to sorting a 3†exhaust system. Dropped it of at Hayward and Scott last week and picked it up yesterday and very happy with it. Very quite until you put your foot down. And also lowered the back a little to better match the front but still needs to go lower but not until I get the arches rolled and some 16s. Hopefully all sorted in time for GTI Spring Festival at Santa Pod. -
catalytic converter, Supercharged VR6 HELP
stuartvr6hi replied to stuartvr6hi's topic in General Chat
Thanks for all the advice (especially RCF). I am defiantly going custom to get exactly what I want. I have spoken to a couple of custom exhaust companies and I’ll keep you posted on my build thread on how it goes. http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?245841 Thanks everyone!!!! -
catalytic converter, Supercharged VR6 HELP
stuartvr6hi replied to stuartvr6hi's topic in General Chat
just emailed demon tweeks about a cat and been on longlifes web site be there's a Server Error in '/' Application on the get a quote page so I'll have to give them a ring tomorrow. Hayward and Scott quoted £550 for a 3" system and £450 for a sports cat. So if i could just get a cat that would suite a 3" system a bit less than £450 than I'll prob go with them. I'm just worried I'll get a cat fitted and it won't last or sap loads of power! ( please tell me if I'm being a muppet) -
catalytic converter, Supercharged VR6 HELP
stuartvr6hi replied to stuartvr6hi's topic in General Chat
i have tried my local powerflow dealer but can't get through on the phone and no responses from email's. I have had quotes from rs fabrications and hayward and scott and both are around the £1000 pound mark. one said £450 for a cat and the other £200 -
Hi I have posted up before about this but without much luck and really need help as i want to get it sorted soon as pos. I want to get a 3†exhaust system made from the manifold for my supercharged vr6. But I want a catalytic converter to be part of it for MOT purposes. Is anyone running a cat on a 3†system or can recommend one that can be incorporated specifically on a charged vr that will last. I had a quote for the exhaust system which was £550 (which sounds ok)and a sport cat that was £450 (which sounds expensive, but what do I know). So the plan with some helpful advice, is to buy a

I read somewhere that the standard cat would not last because of the extra heat produced. Is anyone using a different cat rather than the standard one?

Does it go through a MOT ok?

Hi Is anyone on here running a supercharged vr6 with a Catalytic Converter and if so which one. I currently have a cat bypass and want to incorporate a performance cat into a custom 3" system. Can anyone recommend one? I have done a search and struggled to find anything. Cheers stuart
