Ok please bear with me - I'm trying to type this so that no one falls asleep before they have gotten to the end. Starting to assemble bits for the VRT conversion but in a nutshell I'm looking to be running a T04S on standalone management, Allard custom chargecooler, usual goodies. I'm going to lower compression to safely allow for a fair bit of boost - via LC pistons as opposed to a spacer gasket, reason being is the engine is getting an overhaul anyways. The main question is, would it be wiser or more beneficial to take the bore to 3.0? My rationale is that the extra cc's may help a little wi

I will if it has to be that way, but I'd rather not lol

I think you are right........one other thing to consider is finding out how the dubsport mk1 rear mounted VRT has gotten around the problem, but as that was built by Ian Birch who AFAIK is not a part of them any more, not sure where/who to ask. troublesome lol

Its a transplant, hence the non PAS. Sorry should have said (doh). Would appreciate ANY help! cheers

Can anyone help with part no's or anything? I'm looking for an aux belt for the VR that is shorter to allow for there not being a PAS pump. cheers

Was told that these are available nattering to a chap at the ace cafe, is this a cert and if so from where? cheers

Interesting, although I am using a ABV engine(2.9 'raddo) this is OBD1...? Also I'd like to lose the damned MAF as it seems to be nearly as problematic as the ones on 1.8t's and run something that uses MAP instead - usual suspects such as motech, haltec, emerald, etc.

Curious to know if there is one (justifably) popular system in use, or what people have used/are using in their cars. Good points, badpoints, etc? Also I understand that someone on here was building a replacement coilpack set up as a replacement for the useless std item - did anything come of it and if so, any possibility of a link? Many thanks
