  1. I quite enjoy fiddling with mine.............
  2. What a nightmare you have had mate! If I were you, in the future i'd do as much as you can yourself and find a RELIABLE VW specialist to do the bits you can't do. Some main dealers make all their money on people who just want the very best for their car and it's wrong when they give you nothing but sheeeeiiiiite service. I really feel for you mate. DONT GO BACK!
  3. Ive got some waiting to go on some 312mm discs, they are meant to be good according to Awesome Gti? Was good enough for me!
  4. I had a Magnex system on my Gti and it was really good, nice and deep. I have a Miltek on my VR6 which cost the same money as your mongoose - it is fantastic though!! Great tone at idle and lets you know its there when you want it to.
  5. Here's mine! [lightbox=../../e107_files/public/1189615123_5300_FT125435_005.jpg][/lightbox] Miltek exhaust, K&N panel filter, 16" BBS forged alloys, Full leather, climate control, rolled arches, angel eyes & soon to have 312mm brakes with Mintex extreme pads!
  6. There is a pigeon in your bankaccount sir!
  7. what a nobjockey! He's spent 5k in three years - he could have had a nice car for that!
  8. if the lambda probe was going it wouldn't idle very well, at all.
  9. Mmmm, I thought the middle of the country was the midlands as well! how about a northmidlands meet!
  10. if it is your outside temp sensor it should be clipped into the black plastic grill trim at the bottom of the bumper before the chin spoiler.
  11. what a nobjockey! I think he just had a badge buying spree on ebay and didn't know which ones to leave off!!
  12. yeah could be, when i first got my vr the cooler bolt was hand tight! Maybe give it a tweak. Maybe change the seals on the cooler next oil change - dead easy to do.
  13. you get a new seal with every new filter you buy. It might just not be quite as tight as it could be.
  14. i'm 33. no no claims £400 fully comp with admiral
  15. 136000 original clutch and chains at moment. regular service, goes like stink!
  16. Why don't you get it painted and rescue the poor VR6 underneath!! Just messing, very individual
  17. Just read it mate! What a nightmare. I fixed mine today - hardest part was removing the melted rubber/plastic from the pulleys! I hope everything works out ok with yours. Remember to check your coolant before you leave the garage - mine had almost boiled dry!
  18. vr6madmike - I think if you give your chasis/reg number to GSF they should be able to determine which one you need. I didn't know there were so many!
  19. hellsvr6 - it went with a bit of a bang and obviously the steering became VERY heavy. I'd get it done asap if you are in doubt, like I say I drove a bout three miles and all the temps went through the roof. 400 miles and it will die!
  20. Hi guys, as above my belt has snapped, no big deal i know, however I was wondering what kind of damage could have been done as I drove for about three miles to get home. Water temp rose to just under 110 and oil got to 118. I understand the water temp because the pump wont have been running but why would my oil have got to 118? would it be because my coolant wasn't doing it's job and the oil was trying to do it all? sorry if im being a numpty I just want to know if what i'm thinking is correct. Car ran and started etc perfectly by the way - just V hot!
  21. Buy your missus a scooter, then she will begin to love the leather
