say for example i'd been offered a turbo mapped OBD2 ecu, injectors and MAF for silly cheap...
just wanna weigh up the difference in price (if any) between doing it that way or just getting my ecu mapped
-
Jim you running the 36lb map?
-
:-* move along nothing to see
-
i asked something along the lines of this AGES ago in an old VRT thread but i cant dig it up
i know an American VR6 ecu wont directly work on a euro car, but can a clued up specialist deleted the additionl functions that the US ecu has so it functions on a uk car?
-
And other essential recommendations to consider?
an uprated clutch, ARP rod bolts and headstuds, oil feed and return with modified sump, 'colder' sparkplugs, intercooler pipes and couplings, various gaskets and fittings
and like Kev said uprated pump. FYI i was looking into HRC pumps and they do an equivalent GS340 for half the price of walbro. good feedback about them too
-
manifold, wastegate, head spacer, injectors. few other bits i cant remember
didnt fancy the turbo, the specs arent good for a VR. it would spool up too quick and run out of puff too early in the rev range
-
Yeah' date=' i get you.
I have been waiting for a pm of some guy about a whole load of turbo stuff on ed38.
And buying his stuff i should be paying 500 for his turbo (to4e garret internals .50 coldside), tial wastegate, and manifold.

you wont have much luck, most of the good bits are on their way to me 8-)
as for that £1000 kit on pistonheads, i sold a better quality more complete set than that last year for less money. crazy i know
things with those ebay kits... you could pick up that cheap stuff yourself for less, or take your time and get the bargains for the same except they'd be better quality. and its not even a complete kit.
false ecomony if you ask me
-
yeah i was looking at that one the 1st time around, means you have to flip the turbo and run the intake on the pas side
-
ha ha thats the one i was looking at!
would aso need a W/G take-off adapted in too unless im missing something
also looking at it, should the flexi be on the vertical?
doesnt look like it would be hard to duplicate that, think i found a good welder
-
when you say a bit...
i guess everythings too good to be true!
-
i knew about the site but last time i looked they didnt do any VR specific stuff
-

i know the only 2.9 OBD2 was on the syncro, but can the OBD1 2.9 inlet etc be modded to run on 2.8 OBD2?
-
there's not even enough charge in the battery to disarm it
think i'll do the latter!
-
also....
what do i do with the original wiring undr the bonnet? earth i can just move to the boot. do i run the rest of the +ve stuff to the terminal on the starter?
-
probably being totally dense but not had to do it yet
the battery is dead and wont hold charge so getting a new one
tried to take it out last night but when i disconnect the terminals the alarm siren sounds
how do i stop this? or just put up with the noise for a few mins while i swap them over?
-
thats all the info i needed
cheers fella's
-
thanks, but im gonna do it anyway. so anyone got the info?
-
gonna move the battery into the boot to save some weight up front
how long does the +ve cable need to be and what thickness/amp etc
-
what braided lines would i use with a Porsche caliper/312mm disc conversion on the front?
-
cool, though it would be the same job as on the 12v
something else for the list then!
-
SUMP not lump LOL
wanna fit an R32 shallow sump to the 4mo engine
-
well i thought it should be the same cos the block is 'basically' the same
