Thats what i thought from reading various threads on here,but have been out few times and it still hasnt improved! Will have to see if it improves over the week. Any other suggestions?

Snce getting my lastest VR a 96 obd2,ive been donig various maintence bits on it,yesterday got round to cleaning the throttle body.All went fine and looks spotless now,Before starting the car after refitting throttle i had disconnected the batt and 'reset' the throtte alignment (as per the hall sender cleaning guide on here). Started the car and revs went up to 2k then dropped to 1500 where it stays now when cold.Idle eventually settles down to normal when warm but does take a while to settle back down when driving-e,.g if stopping at a junction-will stick at 1500 then slowly drop to normal.

That could be it..have you any idea where thats located on the engine though? I searched the forum and was led to believe the oil temp was taken from the top of the oil filter housing.But i may be wrong.

The oil temp sensor on the trip computer doesnt register any temp (hasn't worked since ive had the car).Ive looked on top of the oil filter housing and two wires are connected to the housing. However there is a third wire hanging around there?! But i cant find anywhere for this to connect to?Could this be the cause of my non functioning temp readout? Any suggestions on what else to try?

I didnt think it would be too bad-i will have the standard back box still on-which in its self its restrictive and kills noise. Spud the rest of your exhaust standard?

Just wondering if anyone has standard system with this silencer removed? keeping my standard exhaust but going to remove this and make up pipework to replace.Just wondering if its going to be much louder?

Hi,after a short spell on the dark (french) side,i missed the vr too much!Just bought my second one last week-a 96 5 door mystic blue,125k mile obd2. Pleased to be back in a vr-but couple of probs to sort! Firstly the oil temp doesnt register at all on the trip computer-where is the sensor located on the engine? Also at around 3500 rpm the rev counter has a fit-starts to jump around all over the place,and the speedo does the same when it gets to around 100mph? Any ideas? Have a small oil leak too-which i havent investigated yet but think its sump gasket.Are there any other common places for oi

Just got a 2.9 inlet manifold and throttle. i got both parts of the manifold from the 2.9...my question is are the lower manilfold parts the same for the 2.8 and 2.9? As if they are i won't have to disturb my injectors,which i don't want to do really. Any help appreciated as im hoping to fit this week Thanks lewis

At what temp (water) should fans kick in? just that mine don't kick in till just before 100 but a mate with a vr has his come on at 90!

17- mini 1000 18-pug 106 1.1i, nova 1.3 sr lowered and some small mods! 19-pug 205 gti 1.6, 20-clio rsi (1.8 8v) 21-clio rsi still, nova 1.4 sri lowered,stripped out 22-vr6 insurance has been stupid since i started driving!

do any vr's have traction control?..i damn sure mine doesn't! my best 0-60ft was 2.32.

ok i ran up the strip a few times at gti fest.was my first time on a 1/4 so was pretty pleased with my first run of 15.12.did a couple more runs and didnt expect to improve on my first run. but later in the afternoon i did my best run of 15.08.pretty happy with that-my cars standard except jetex i.k and took my headlght out.looking at my slips,i need improve reaction anyone got any tips?or is it one of those things that comes with practice?
