    was pretty good day apart from the bottom end has shat itself in the que to get in engine is goosed

    back on track head gaskets all done picked her up today sweet as a nut

    got my tickets weyhey but............ head gasket has gone on the vr so its touch and go to get it ready in time it in the garage getting stripped luckily he is a vw fan so he told me it should be ready if the head aint cracked

    its chrome/black powder coating looks really well I think compared to the original colour just needs dropping a little bit more i think

    took a couple of pictures today with the new wheels on photos are a bit naff as they were taken on my phone problem is wheel weights rubbinbg on my caliper and the front wheel seems to be jammed on now cant get it off

    thanks guys costing a fortune but I dont care I enjoy it hopefully getting the new rims put on tomorrow so I will take some pictures just got it back today had new chains tensioners guide rails done still tapping got a sticky tappet which is annoying

    ah I never went for the wide track could not be chewed on changing the rear axle i got th emk3 frame with mk2 bottom arms mk2 shockers are the g60 top mounts better then gti ones I never new they was any difference

    right thought I would put my car up on here from the day I bought it to now I purcahsed it as a 8v gti back end of 2004 looking sorry for itself off ebay for 750pounds stupid blue neon lights all over it and in the spot lights so I tried to tidy it up as best as i could at the time on my poxy wage head gasket went fixed it then it went again few month later so I decided it was time for a change got a new lump to put it and the car sat around for some time before anything was done about it then the car went off for a lick of paint to freshen it up a little everything went well f

    yeah its all converted wanted to run vr6 brakes did not like the g60 setup i had on first just after some spacers to make them sit slightly wider to fill the arches out a bit

    the ones currently on the car are 16" not sure what make they are the ones I have just bought are bbs off the mk3 golf vr6 15" my camber is also a mile out no one would attempt it something about making the holes bigger on the stuts so they had more adjustment to sort it out so I just had the tracking and the toe done for now so my tyres dont wear off

    what do you all think took a few snaps this morning need the blue piping in red when i get round to it fitted the samcos a little bit of polishing not finished yet oh and i had my grill painted and the red stripe repainted and here is a pic of my dash not got everything wired up yet

    i fitted my samcos and the pipes aint pressured up like before and nothing is leaking strange

    I dont lol i have changed the electric pump a few weeks back as mine was goosed would the water not leak everywhere if it was the pump? in a way i hope it is the pump as its easier to do then a headgasket i think is they any signs of them breaking

    it only leaks when driving hard the hoses are rock hard i have emptied the water twice and bleeded it does not looses a drop when i drive about normally not sure on the water level moving when reving it my top and bottom rad hoses are not the right length they are to short so they is a pipe inside with another piece of hose attatched all jubilee clipped up the bottom hose has popped off before and it was leaking there the other week so i refitted it i have samcos on order the link does not work

    it leaked before the thermostat was fitted they is no signs of leaking when it is stationary i can plod about normal and it will be great as soon as i hammer it the water goes down would the pump leak under pressure?

    hi all need some advice before i rip my engine apart i have a 2.9 vr6 engine in a mk2 its been in just over a month now when i drive steady the water level is great does not move but if i drive it hard its loosing water i cant see any leaks anywhere but i noticed the hoses go really hard full of pressure i been told it could be headgasket issue? the oil and water are not mixing so i was just wondering if it could be something stupid or if anyone has come across this help would be appreciated cheers rob

    hey all my flywheel is warped on my vr6 its a 2.8 out of the golf would a corrado vr6 flywheel fit or not cheers rob
