Seen it done in the mid 90's at GTi international, I spoke to the builders from south London, can't remember their names but 70% sure it was Skeete or something like that. They had a 2.8 standard VR6 in a mk1 and said it was so front end heavy it was dangerous and didn't handle at all well.

I love polls, thanks for posting a poll for me to vote on. LOL I'd keep the plate and stick it on the R32 as it's known as your plate now, so it's part of you' To be honest if VR's were newer the plate would be worth more money, but £750 sound cheap to me. Stick it on the R32 you know you want to.

Some people need their tools taking away from them !!

Scoobys are reliable but I'm unlucky I suppose, first scooby out of 4 that has given any trouble, the AA geeza said it was the firs scooby he's ever been to that was broke, usually they go to scoobys with flat batteries.

Keep the twin light grill as it's a standard part for your car, the small rear light had the single light grill. Looks a good clean car for it's age richie, keep it original and it should go up in value in the future.

I know I aint got a dub anymore, but I got no luck anymore either, the scooby spun a big end shell last night and locked solid. The mechanic had it to bits today and found the problem. I called out the AA last night and they came out and checked, then called a local garage to come and low loader it home, the Frankenstein type recovery driver then winched the scooby up the truck bed and rolled it back down to straighten it up and scrapped the front passengers wheel along the metal edge of the trailer and pulled the paint off and chewed the metal rim up. I told him before the wheel made contact

To me it sounds just as easy to t cut and repolish as I've always done when the paint looked dead, or wont this look as good as a clay applied car.
-
How long does a bar of clay last, or in other words how many times can you wash your car with it till it is no more, or how many bars to a car ? Whats the best polish, the wet look polimar polish or the liquid gold ?

vr6 has a sort of kickdown......?
bulldog replied to aimee's topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
My motor goes very quick as you said, everytime I drive it.. I sussed it though .... It's me turbo kicking in LOL -
So washing with clay is no different from giving the paint work a good t cut then ?
-
If it stops raining on weekend I may have a go at the clay and polishing, did the shin last for long ?

Looks a tidy MK1, take me back to the 80's when I had my first one, Not exactally as it left the factory though, now I'm being an anorak, but the driver wiper arm looks to be missing the triangler metal wind deflecting spoiler. I bet it's been welded or had a repair patch added to where the clutch cable goes through the bulk head, they all go there, every one I had did and they weren't very old car at the time. Does the OBC still work ?

Has anybody tried Meguiars clay and the 3 part polishing system , if you read the box and bottles is sounds the bolox. Things that put me off is, no one I know has used it. the cost if you buy everything the say you need to do the job proper how often you would need to do it to keep it looking good the time it would take to do the complete car in one hit Any opinions on this or recommended other polishes will be spot on.

Fitted some speedlines today, looks better IMO but it needs to be lowered a bit now s it sits better. http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d13/bulldogstaffy/DSCN61914983.jpg http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d13/bulldogstaffy/DSCN61924984.jpg http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d13/bulldogstaffy/DSCN61934985.jpg

Sound great, it got that sound that great engines have like the merlin in spitfires and the AMG motor in the SLK.

Never driven an Integrale but been a passenger in one in the early 90's, felt good then but it was new and I was used to a 1.6 Golf GTi at the time. As for impreza's I've never like driving the newer shaped models, just the classics, I quite like the interior of my Sti it's on par with the VR6 I just sold, but with cheaper plastic. The evo 6 I had was good, quick and stopped well but never felt as nimble as the scooby does, if you get a scooby make it an import model, they're so much better than the uk models.

Yes you did' date=' hows it going, still got the same VR ? [/quote'] Yes its going good mate. u? Nope the VR got scraped but your door lives on lol.. Finished building your house yet Still doing the house, it's a long project this one and it's draining the bank account and stopping me having lots of holidays abroad and pricey cars (like the good old days before I moved here).

Got this stupid cow up our road who is the tipical BMW driver, she'll run you off the road, if you do stop to let her pass she totally ignores you, she's a real arrogaint b1tch. Whats worse is she has sold the 5 series she had and has bought a masssive brand new cheriokie jeep and still trys to run you off the road, I keep meaning to go past her house with the dog one night and screw her fron drive gate shut with some 4" screws, or maybe put some dog sh1t under her door handles.

Seen a Civic type r today, not the latest shape, well it had lambo type door hinges and looked good, not so good that I ever have it on any car i owned unless it was a Lambo, but none the less it did look good. Has anybody here done or seen a VR6 or GTi with lambo doors, probally look quite good if it was euro styled.

looks good.. i don't care what anybody says - i like 'em and i'd have one!! especially a 2 door type r one... Have you ever drove one rich, I love driving them probally more than anyother car I've ever had.

Yeh aimed at the rice burners, but toyota and subaru have the same 5x100 stud pattern as the VR6 has, is a bit limited to one manifacturer, if I was as clever as Mike I do it with photo shop

Well it's not a game but I like to play it like a game, keeps me amused anyway. Take a pic of your car side on and upload it to the site and then place some wheels over your wheels, scale the size of the wheels and simply click the next set of wheels on the right side column. Have a go it's easy and self explanitory. http://www.rarerims.co.uk/virtual/
