  1. Hi, Got mine from supersprint. Fitted no worries - had to get a longer intermediate pipe (they seem all the same for the vr6 and gti) but other than that bolts right on. The longer pipe is needed 'cause they only have 55cm? not 65cm so I needed to make up a few cm's to get it on. Have a BMC and Miltec so that just added a little ummmmmf. Regards, Steve
  2. Hi, Normally and allowing for unknown air leaks it is the ISCV that sits on the engine top just under the spark plug cover and has a couple of pipes running to it. These get clogged with crap over time and need a really good clean. Take it of the car and then with some carb cleaner blow it out and work the valve very carefully. Once you have soaked it and soaked it again put it back carefully. You should have a solid idle then when warm. Details for removing it are on the this site. Steve
  3. Well gotta say after reading all this went for some InPros from 247PPD came about 5 days :-( But do look the nutz all smoky and suits the car real nice. Will take piccies when I can get out in the dark! Did not wire up the indicators until I get some blanks if they do them for the bumper ones.
  4. Hi, Alot of cars with electric fuel pumps under or behind the tank have baffles to stop the fuel sloshing about starving the pump when low and cornering or going up hill (early mk3 XR3i's were really bad for this). Having never pulled a Golf tank apart to peek inside I cannot say if they are baffled or not but they should be. However have you hit or damaged the tank at all? We used to see a lof of cars where the tank had been hit and the fuel then sits to the side of the ding - sometimes starving the pickup pipe for the pump. Might be worth a prod about with the tank dropped to see if it is cr
  5. Is it the air box assy the same as a Golf mk3 VR6 as in the Vento? Or something diff? If they are the same not a worry matey. Have a spare assy from mine if it fits. Is the k&n a 57i yes? Steve
  6. You can pick up a code reader for about £125.00 - well worth it. I had a auto lecky bod come out and clear my codes after throttle tweaking and got charged £25.00 so only 4 more visits and getting the reader is cheaper! Seems the thing to get IMHO. Steve
  7. Hi, Been reading all over the forum on the subject of Angel eyes and found some real useful information. Got a mk3 vr6 which is a real deep purple (near black) and it has smoked rears and front lights (twin hella setup) but they are all broken and crapo light. So after some angel eyes - I would like to drive somewhere so i can touch and feel :-) stuff to see what I like the most OR someone here recommend something like the InPro;s or FK's and a piccy would help. Unless anyone knows a stockist near Buckinghamshire with them on the shelf ... Sorry for asking this but don't want to spend £xxx.xx
  8. Yup, Got one on my 95 vr6 and it is sweet. Not too loud at all. If your sensible (!) with the loud pedal then you won't really notice it at all. But then again ... Being sensible
  9. Hi Pete, (?) 08/1995 - I have the square side repeaters but a 16 pin diag connector - so not 100% sure - what's the correct way to prove the right version? OBD1 - found the FAQ with a decent picture of the TPS and that hose from the air intake! Regards, Steve
  10. Hey Guys (and girls ) Anyone know what 00533 - "Idling Speed Regulator Present Adaption Limit Not Reached" means!!!!! Cannot see anything on the web that relates to that bit. I am guessing a sensor or air leak? Everything seems fine bar the idle is way high (800-900rpm) and that makes first and reverse a right pain to crash into. Nothing else showed up on a code scan bar that but the guy with the reader does not know VW's at all but at least we got a code from it. Regards, Steve
