The Haynes manual doesn't seem to say much Think this is going to be an expensive one Thanks for your help guys, if you think anything else would be helpfull I would be most gratefull Nige -

Thanks guys The temp was about normal. Only realized something was wrong as the aircon wasn't working. Tried water after an hour and a half when the breakdown guy arrived and it just emptied on the road. Thanks again Nige -
Driving back from Taunton today and my aircon wasn't working very well. The next thing the whole car filled with steam from just about anywhere it could escape from. Pretty scary at 80 in the middle land of the M5, couldn't see a thing Managed to get onto the hard shoulder after nearly having a caravan through the back of my car as the idiot towing it decided not let me pull over by speeding up in the inside lane. The guy from the breakdown company said he thinks it's the heater matrix. The drivers side carpets are wet and the heater sensor was whining like mad. There was also water under th

All sorted now guys Thanks for all your help. Took it to Valtones and they found a short on the rear speaker, broken wire in the door that stopped the rear drivers window working and a fault on the No.15 fuse circuit. £88 inc VAT.... BARGAIN!!! Thanks again Nige

Hi Guys I have a major problem with my VR and desperately need some help and advice if any of you could be so kind The problem started the other day for no reason and it has me stumped. I went to start my car and it makes a kind of whirring noise and then the lights come up on the dash. The clock (time) goes back to 00:00 everytime i turn off the ignition, central locking doesnt work, cigerette lighter or interior lights. I have changed the number 15 fuse and still nothing. I have disconnected the battery and still it does it. I have a clifford alarn fitted professionally so dont think it cou

Hi guys Noticed my exhaust is blowing like hell, so I got underneath and found it is blowing from the Cat. There are no holes or anything but I can feel it blowing from, what I can only describe as a sort of tube looking bit. Wondering if this is a vent if the cat goes wrong or if it is supposed to have a plug or hose attatched to it. Its like a metal tube about 10mm in diameter and 40mm long fixed/welded to the cat. Sorry if this sounds confusing but any help would be good Thanks guys Nige

Hi mate Thanks for your reply. The motor doesnt sound or do anything. I connected a 2nd hand motor (assured it was working) to the loom without connecting it to the door or mech (left it hanging) and nothing happened. Tried holding the key and 3 windows went down but this one stayed. Thinking its time for an auto electrician Nige

Hi guys Having problems with my drivers side rear electric window. I have tried the switch from the other side and a 2nd hand motor I was assured worked and still cant get the window to go down. I have noticed that a few wires were broken inside rubber between the door so I fixed them but still no joy. All the other 3 windows work and this one is driving me mad. Any help or advice would be great. Thanks Nige

I hadnt noticed the pedal being lower but this is the same as what has causd my problems. See here: http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?205798 I read the replies on here and noticed the pedal being lower so I lifted it with my foot and it went into gear as easy as anything. So is this normal on a VR6 and how can it be rectified so the problem doesnt happen again? Nige

Hi guys I have a 96 VR6 and just lately I have been having problems getting it into gear in the mornings. I dont know what the problem is as the clutch seems fine but when its left for a while (overnight) I try to put it into gear and it is hell of a job. Reverse seems to go in with a clunk and now it seems first doesnt want to work at all. When I have driven it for a bit there is no problem at all. Anyone got any ideas please? Many thanks Nige

Hi guys Bought an aftermarket stereo and speakers but after taking out the door speakers I am confused with all the wires. The stereo is in and fine thanks to the ISO plug as are the front speakers but its the rear speakers that are causing me hassle. The original plugs are different than the ones on the new speakers, the new speakers having just 2 plugs (one larger than the other. standard car speaker ones) but the back speakers have 4 wires going to them. Does anyone know what colour wires go on each plug? Any help would be great guys as I dont want to blow my new speakers Nige

Hi again Many thanks for your reply. I have checked to see if there was some wires and a connection block and there is. I have managed to get a switch on Ebay so I am now crossing my fingers that the motors are ok. Thanks also for the welcome to the forums, I will be looking about and hopefully getting to know you.all Thanks again Nige
