Whats the filming for guys? any info on the net?
-
yea i have seen the r32's aswell, it looks like one of those cons to me. There was a simular one in the local admag. 2006 golf gti £2000. you had to give him £1000 upfront when u looked at it so he knew you wernt wasting his time. I'm sure after him and his mates had caved your head in and left with your cash and belongings the ad would be removed.

Oh yes, THAT noise...we had 4 vr's in our convoy on the way to leeds and 2 of us had BMC's..you could tell which ones. heavenly!

I think i'm going to end up with coilies, i have been outside measuring the arches and a non adjustable kit isn't going to cut the mustard...Now for the biggie..WHICH KIT hahaha Has anyone tried the Weitec Hicon TX?
-
Hiya guys, i have a 1997 vento VR6 with aircon and i'm struggling a little on which suspension kit to get for it. I was looking at a straight 60/40 weitec ultra GT kit which is peanuts (£250) But..then i'm thinking what if i need to go lower..maybe coilies would be better for me..but then theres so many to choose from and with no knowledge of coilover suspension I'm at a bit of a dead end. What have you other vento boys and girls gone for and what are the advantages / disadvantages of using it. I know the obvious advantage is adjustability but have you got a right job on getting all 4 corners

I went on the south yorkshire dubs stand but recal talking to the two that turned up with Jez. Nice to meet you both.
-
I have to say black magic too, not only because my vento is this colour but but when u see it in direct sunshine (not often in england) the colours in it are awesome.

Just checked all the plug leads and there sno probs with them but i couldnt check the plugs themselves as i realise the hole to get at them is slightly smaller than the sparkplug sockets i have! I guess its a trip to GSF lol
-
Cheers guys, i will check the plugs and leads today, the old leads are in the bin as they were pulled to bits when i had my timing chains done. I have the little plastic tool for the leads so i will use that.
-
After having new leads on my 1997 (coilpack) vr theres a slight missfire upto about 1500rpm. if you sit in neutral and slowly rev upto 1500rpm u can feel the hesitation but after that its smooth as. Any ideas lads?

I have just put a k&n filter in ourlasses new vr as she moaned it didn't sound like mine (mine has a jr cone filter) I removed the restrictor and cut most of the plastic off the front of the airbox. And to be honest at full chat it makes mine sound like a pussycat. The cars in front must think death himself is riding upon them hahaha.

Cheers Matt, I will nip somewhere when i get my starting issues sorted. @2pints..I don't know mate.

It a 1997 on a P plate. I'm not sure the rattle was there last week when i picked it up to be honest as i'm funny about things being just right and had already sent it back once with lumpy idling
-
DB auto's in handsworth sheffield did it. I have spoken to the guy today and he assures me both chains, tensioners and guides were done correctly. the rattle is more rythmic than before..kinda like a chain catching as it turns. gets quicker with the revs. how do i get the timing checked on the vr engine?
-
Matt is there a way for me to test the ignition switch?
