  1. i know mb motorsports have fitted a sqs one to a rally cross tt with good results but they are not aloud any electronic control to there rear diffs so im unsure
  2. yer the bloke definitly is handy with the welder, its gona be one quick mk1 golf i like the other lads setup to both look mega clean and impressive realy makes me want to go turbo now lol also makes me want a new charge cooler made as big as theres
  3. just been looking through a few build threads over on vwvortex and found this http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=4337240&page=1 that has to be the best charge cooler like how they moved the filler cap
  4. what i ment was if i want fixed 4wd i can only have that or 2wd without going under the car to adjust it
  5. yer its got a good chance to be as it was obd1 when i got it. i bought it off a lad on edition38 so not realy sure i did have a plastic rocker cover but after trying to trial fitting it i found that the plastic one sits a bit higher so the manifold was hitting it and not going low enough to bolt up to the lower manifold i might try heat mat between the rocker cover and manifold as there is about 1/8" between them with the ali one fitted if not i might see about getting both ceramic coated if there is still a issue
  6. yer but seems worth it in my opinion my only other option is the sqs one but that means im fixed 4wd theres also a v1 version on this controller but its only 100euros less so not realy worth it in my opinion
  7. never thought of that bodge yer it would make the cooler much bigger i bought mine second hand but if i was getting another made i definitly would be flushing off the oil filler cap like u say
  8. yer it would be a realy short path im not sure how hot it would get. the other thing is my cooler is after the throtle body will that make any difference cant wait to get things started so i can see how things realy work
  9. http://www.4motioncontroller.com/shop/products.php?version2 thats the one sorry
  10. mine obd2, i know next to nothing about the mapping side of things to be honist
  11. this is the best 100% standalone controller iv found but not realy nessisary for the mk4 boys http://www.4motioncontroller.com/shop/products.php?version2&cPath=1_2 heres a link for the vw syncro thread http://vwsyncro.co.uk/data/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=2241 just read the knob is only sutable for gen 2 haldex systems ie mk5 sorry my mistake
  12. if you own a mk4 can you not get the ones like the lads on the r32oc run with a in cabin knob which is switchable from normal to fwd to race? will the sqs ones not mean you loose traction control also you loose all saftey features like the temp shut off you cant run 50/50 all the time with these as it would mean locking the rear diff meaning it would skip around corners check out vwsyncro.co.uk they have a thread about controllers i would say the sqs one are only any good for race track use
  13. looks good mate like the photos you take them your self? rotrex seem to be the only chargers that people are making well past 300bhp with but to be fair that more than enogh for most people
  14. I like that' date=' but it's way over priced. I used this one and it's very accurate and reliable - http://www.dynotunenitrous.com/store/scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=134 The 0-5V output on the Dutch one is useful though as it can be used to increase fuelling once EGT hits a certain temp, say 1000 deg, to protect the exhaust valves. [/quote'] i think i preffer yours now as its a fair bit cheaper ispretty much the same thing and im runnind standard managment so cant real do much with output side of it im guessing
  15. yer its the same as the american blokes just doesnt look as fancy im thinking about getting one of the polymer gasket things that go between the lower intake manifold and head as im guessing that will help abit but ill get it mapped and stuff first then see what sort of intake temps i get so i can see what works and what doesnt id like the style more if my vr was turboed honist as there would be hardly any pipe work required so look super clean but im still happy with it here a better pic of it its pretty close to the bonet when shut lke
  16. not sure realy theres a lad making 430 with this charger and pully on a 2.9 corrado engine with cams so im hoping for around 400ish but not realy sure
  17. id like to know this to lol, the only reason i bought it was becasue i wanted to go stage three with my vf charger and didnt want to loose any boost through pipe work of a intercooler but iv sold that now anyways havent had my car running with it on yet goin to be trying to run 18psi with a rotrex
  18. i bought water wetter its like anti freeze but keeps it cooler wont be usin 5ltrs thou probly 2 ltr tank plus there will b 1 in the rad another in the lines and aound 1.5 in the cooler cheers john

  21. im a bit worried that it might suffer from heat soak off sitting on the rocker cover thats why im trying to cool the water as much as possible, that why im considering running two water circuits one with the charge cooler and another just with the water tank i like your idea of adding a gauge to keep an eye on the water temp cheers john
  22. sory i didnt mean a range rovers actual radiator i ment the ones that you get on a range rover sport for there charge cooler setup like the one below
  23. looks realy good cant wait to see what you make with the 18psi pully should give me a rough idea what ill make
