...........and I wonder why I hardly ever come on here anymore. You've just answered my question! :@ Unhelpful, silly replies weren't called for.

Easy to say when you have £600 in your pocket to spare to fix it up. Which I don't! :( That's really helpful of you by the way, to say stop using that car park. Thanks!......... I don't live in Stockport any more, not since 9 years ago, and it was merely a shopping trip. Any other enlightened suggestions, smart ass???

Haha! Quality!!

Well, so far I have now managed to find an insurance company authorised garage (why oh why it didn't go there in the first place I'll never know) in Salford who will fit and spray me 2 new doors and replace the door cards with my leather ones etc etc... £360 + VAT His mate is a locksmith who will make me 2 new locks for £32 + VAT each. Raddo Dave is due round here later on with 2 new doors for me for the grand sum of £70. A thousand quid to repair my car? Not ruddy likely! haha! So, the insurers have offered me my grand, less salvage costs and my excess of £120, and will send me a cheque

I've found at least half a dozen unmolested VR6's on Pistonheads all of which are over £2,500. I've arranged for the car to come back home because I reckon I can source the parts and get it done for less than their poxy £1000. I've given them a choice, they pay for it to be repaired or they pay me out the proper value.

Because they say if they write a car off, you can only have a courtesy car for 4 days!!!!! Arrrrrgh!!!

Hello there! Time to tap into the excellent knowledge bank on here. Last Saturday, some scummy little chavs decided they wanted to steal my pride and joy. This happened whilst me and my blokey were out shopping in Stockport. I'd parked my car on Heaton Lane multi-storey, which I thought was nice and safe. Oh no. When I got back, the doors had been wrecked from the attempt to get in. Pished off is not the word The insurance company, in their infinite wisdom....have decided they want to write the car off because it's 'uneconomical to repair' and have offered me the insulting amount of £1000

Sounds about right then. It goes when I give it gas, so at a low rev range. Is it a 'replacement' job or can it be easily glued back together, lol? Ta

Hello everybody peeps. Yes I know, it's been aaaaaaages since I've been on here! (apologies!) However I've been playing with my 1968 Beetle a lot for the past few months (and I lurve it!) But I thought I'd tap into the vast VR6OC knowledge bank that is....err...you lot! haha! I'm getting a rattle which appears to be from my exhaust (fairly new, i.e. less than 9mths old) Milltek exhaust. I am sure it is not the exhaust itself that's hanging off or anything because it's pretty darn solid, i.e. it doesn't move when you give the tail pipe a wiggle. This happens when idling/sat at the lights et

Just to wish you all a very Happy Christmas and I hope Santa brings you all much loveliness! I have some bad news for you however. I won't be coming on the 'Ring trip I'm afraid. It's nothing personal, but I'm off to Australia next week for a month on holidays and when I come back, the rest of my funds are going to be spent on a 1967 Beetle, when I can find a good one. Considering the amount of money that needs spending on my VR, and what I've spent on it already (way too much!) I can't justify throwing about another £2,000 at it including the cost of the trip, which will instead buy me a 'p

How did you get on? I've been on the list FOUR years. Count - FOUR. You have to apply every single week via the Applause Store website and they put you on a reserve list if you're LUCKY! Then, they tend to ring your home or mobile number anonymously and if you don't pick up, you don't get the tickets. It's harsh. It also kicked off last year because Applause Store, very naughtily were handing out tickets like sweets from their store in the Bluewater Shopping Centre in Kent. The BBC didn't know about this and hence put a stop to it. Bearing in mind there's over 500 people in the audience e

Well I know the back end is a Milltek, maybe the front/mid sections are original although I'd be astonished if they'd been on almost 13 years! -
Ok after me spending oodles of cash on my service a few weeks back I really could do with getting one or two jobs off the list as it's coming up to Xmas, I'm down under the whole of January and then there's like 6 weeks before we go to the Ring so not much time at all to get the car ready! In order of importance I understand I need to do the following jobs..and rather than take it back to Awesome, who I have nothing against..they're just expensive of course... Oil seals...is this just a bit of an any old garage thing as if so I'll get this done at 'local garage type place'. 'Intermediate' box

DYNO DEMON RR DAY SUN 28TH OCT... RESULTS ON P24...
hellsVR6 replied to Dub-Donna's topic in Previous Events
How could I not be happy with a number like that. Even if the Dyno itself was a bit optimistic' date=' relative to everyone else's it's a great figure for a J reg OBD1 :-D Can't be much wrong with her, for all her little foibles. So gave her some on the way home. ;-) [/quote'] Your car smokes more than I do Nige! I was behind you on the Chester Rd... -
