I reckon the old curtain twitchers on the neighborhood watch could dish out a severe beating as well............"It never did us any harm"..............i thought the plod were the only buggers who couldnt strike, something about it being illegal, how about you go on strike then arrest yourselves ?........must plan that armed robbery.......... :-p

  5. These bolts are supposed to be renewed every time you take them off. The pins are held in place by bolts that go in the back [lightbox=../../e107_files/public/1197653352_6185_FT210511_camera_pics_053.jpg][/lightbox] these are obviously 280mm brakes off my Corrado cant see why 288mm would be a lot different, any help?

  9. All Corrado's are obd1 , mines a l994 but has a lot of obd 2 parts on it, the only thing i can think of is that maybe the throttle body wont fit cos golf and rado TB are different so you may need a rado TB to fit. This is from what ive read on this site but someone with more practical experience may have more accurate info for you................... :-p

  13. Yes im pretty sure it does, from a stealer that pipe goes for around £75 , just to be sure your talking about the hose that the smaller pipe goes to the throttle body?...................or are you talking about the top hose (rad) where the smaller pipe goes to the expansion tank ?.........i thought samco's were a direct replacement for all water hoses other wise what would be the point? ........i dont have samco's but someone on here that does may have better advise.............if this has been any help at all i'd be suprised........................ :-p

  15. Thanks for your comments i was a bit worried cos it was booked in for MOT and it was a sunday so i thought it would be difficult to get one, vr6 bits being sometimes scarce. Anyhow managed to get one and fit it without too much hassle took about 1 1/2 hours (took my time) , i thought about a low temp one but the one ive got the temp rests around 80 degs on the motorway and up to 90 in traffic which to me is ok. Maybe as the weather gets hotter i'll have a rethink, long time to wait yet though..........................the housing all looks fine no cracks or leaks ...............:-p
  16. Can i run my car without a thermostat until i can get hold of one ? and do i need to take of the whole housing or just the elbow where the thermostat is? my top hose is solid, pressurised header tank cool bottom hose.........overheating.............any help would be appreciated.................... :-p
  17. I have contacted VW direct and they say that the car will run with the new MAF but MPG will suffer and the codes would have to be reset in order for the car to run correctly. The Goth is a gentleman and a scholar for going out of his way to help me, what a star !!!!..................... :-p
  18. That rear wipe thing has had me confused for ages................................... :-p
  19. The Phirm does it for around £750 which for a place with a good reputation is good me thinks................... :-p
  20. As previously stated its what you prefer, no-one goes down the street in exactly the same clothes as someone else, point being its about taste, and what you want from a car. Ive only sat in golf VR6 and even the height of the seat was different (golf a bit higher) . Nobody can knock anyones taste in cars, its just that if i didnt have my Corrado then i would buy another Corrado i wouldnt have a golf VR6 simply because VW made the Corrado. Put simply the golf boys would say get a golf and vice versa, ive never driven another car as good as a corrado, which simply means it suits me...........so
  21. Mmm like you say 4 months is a long time just got my coilovers on as well, then it broke down various symptoms thought it was head gasket, now think its coilpack i took the spark plugs out after starting it and all the plugs were wet with petrol, running on five cylinders or is it three ?.........the joys of a thirteen year old car............but i wouldnt swap it for anything.................... :-p
