  1. i think it would sell, and they will make it. Its just like a big version of a clio v6 if you think about it and they sold. People wernt they bothered about being impractical thats why they made more versions.
  2. yeah, i bet you need spacers because you dont have enough offset.
  3. looks like it could be out the film judge dred
  4. i brought the clutch for £80 from gsf car parts. i got someone else to fit it, i was going to do it myself but its been way too cold outside to do it. so i just gave it to a clutch specialist to do it. cost about 200 plust vat to do. I didnt do the chains because i didnt have the money at the time. i wanted to but i was planning to do it after chrismas when i have more time. With the coilovers they are still really good! i had mine set pretty low as you can see in my sig pic, but still could go lower. i have now raised it a bit at to front because the wheel was rubbing on the arches on tight
  5. It would be great to see rage against the machine, i did read in a guitar mag that they might reunite for one last tour but might be bull poo.
  6. it was just the fitting sorry, i brought the clutch seperatly first because i was going to fit it then decided not too because it was too cold and crappy outside.
  7. electronic diff lock. traction control. it uses the abs to stop wheelspin at slow speeds. mine is rubbish to be honest.
  8. i got my new clutch fitted yesterday and its great! Its just a standard one but it has a great bite and comes in half way on the clutch pedal. smooth as f**k now too. like driving a new car...lol
  9. prob a good idea to get it checked at least. not sure on torque setting but i tend to do it just a bit more than i would for a wheel nut, should be fine they are locking nuts anyway.
  10. I am not underestimating the ring. i know what it can do to the car. but my brakes wont be standard. braided hoses 6-line. red stuff ceramic. drilled discs front and rear. the pads have had great reviews from other clubs so i thought i would give them a bash. i was going to use omp racing pads because its what i know but would like to do a bit of testing with others. Prob take a spare set of pads with me if i dont get on with them. Got to be a fair bit better than my old 280mm warped discs with worse than standard pads. Cheers for the advice though.
  11. i would do but i couldnt afford it because it was not a planned event, so just got the clutch done and new gearbox oil. smooth as a babies bum now. Chain are not making any noises at the moment anyway so not too bothered. Moderator edit by: blondie
  12. sure its not the edl cutting in?
  13. on the six speed conversions the sixth gear tends to be the same ratio as the old 5th gear. they change the ratios for 1st 2nd and 3rd.
  14. is the clutch slipping?? Standard clutch will be fine unless your planing on putting a supercharger on with over 280bhp. yes gearbox has to come out. yes the timing chains and tensioners can then be replaced once gearbox is out. hope that helps.
  15. by the way it is very dangerous to do that!! could hurt yourself and others not to mention damage you car if it falls off the axle stand, if you are going to do something like that just make sure both drive wheels are well off the ground and car securely on axle stands.

  17. i use autoglm bumper care, its the best stuff i have ever used, lasts for ages. cant remember how much (not alot) but you can get it from halfrauds.
  18. Getting the clutch fitted this week. i was going to do it but it was too cold for my liking this weekend, so got it booked in at a garage and they quoted £200+vat seemed to be the best quote i could find.
  19. yeah cheers! its the 4 slider pins in the middle that i need
  20. it was designed and built in 8 weeks by vw, i think they done an amazing job by chuck a load of bits from their parts bin in such a short time. Of course they are going to improve on it in time but they wanted to check out peoples feedback before loads of money gets chucked at it for the final product. If it does get produced i am sure it will be an amazing car, just think of what companys the volkswagen audi group owns and what technology they have to produce a supercar. some of you say a lambo would be better, who owns these raging bulls????
  21. is the engine running?? if it is and the wheels are off the ground even in nuetral the wheels will turn on idle.
