  1. i have seen alot bigger turbos used on alot smaller engines! imo its not that big really.
  2. i am not to bothered about overheating my brakes, its not a race. so i doubt i would take it anywhere close to the limits, just looking forward to a good trip away with the least amount of propblems possible. Getting new clutch fitted this week too, bloody thing died on me. Luck it was here not in germany otherwise i would be really pissed off!
  3. cheers thats great! i went to vw and they said for the bits i need it comes to £56.26 bit steep! anywhere else i could get them do you know?

  7. Hey, Might be a stupid question but i will be fitting the later spec 288 brakes to my vr6 this weekend and i just wanted to know weather they will fit under the standard early vr6 bbs 15" wheels cross spoke???? i want to use the 15s for tracks. cheers for any help! matt
  8. getting really excited now about this trip! I cant help myself ordering new toys for my car. Just given it a full service. Coilovers on and testing out different settings. Got new bigger brakes, goodrich hoses and red stuff pads (never used red stuff so fingers crossed they will be ok). Also fitted my new sump guard.
  9. Shame to see a vr like that but accidents happen. hope your gf is ok! to be honest you would be better off striping it and selling the good stuff. I will have the colour coded side stripes!!! please!
  10. get someone to braze weld a new bit onto the old broken stub
  11. what did you pay for it if you dont mind me asking. i would like a syncro. dont mind lhd as mine already is. Your car looks great btw!!
  12. sorry need to update pics of my car. they now do not have the wheel arch covers. My car is strange because its a german import. LHD. Mulberry paint and leather with climate control heated seats. but 1993 model. all came as standard from wolfsburg. got the german stuff to prove it. Has never been resprayed, label is still in the boot.
  13. no harm in trying, you can always get your money back if your not happy. You dont alway need to power infra red. it is radiation. Think of think about submarines that stay out for months not needing any fuel.
  14. for damage to take place the aluminium head would need to be at a core temp of over nearly 400 degrees before any damage would occur from putting cold water in the engine. Doubt it would be that hot. Think about it. boat engines take in freezing cold water all the time!
  15. cool, we can make a snowman!! A bit of vr6 drifting fun!
  16. its the postage that makes it that much. I am having a talk with them about distributing them in the uk so it could save us money. The cost of the ally is not alot it is the designing and machining that cost too. also they have made special bolts so it will fit without modification to our car i.e welding and cutting. Everything is machined to sit flush without bits poking out everywhere. I still have not got it yet but that is because i am trying to get a discount from them...lol
  17. wow. Never realised how clever the vr6 engine and management is!!! Great find!
