  2. Hey everyone am gonna have my wheels refurbed soon just been thinking either do them as they are now or get the centres spray the same as the car, could anyone with photoshop thats good at that sorta thing quickly knock me up a pic from these, cheers
  3. iv just ordered some new top mounts from venom but there not in stock, i want uprated ones but from what iv read on here there just smaller, are they actually poly?

Hi peeps im currently sourcing parts for my turbo conversion and came across this on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=370233339293&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT was wondering if anyone had mounted there turbo like this rather than the other way as iv heard it fowls with the brake fluid resevour, thought this way might be easier, also just wanted to know what sorta cash going the custom route would cost as this is pretty pricy, many thanks tinks
  5. iv got the same problem its only second gear, doesn't always happen either, does anyone know how to adjust the linkage for second gear??
  6. thanks kev i thought the manifold would be alright, obviously being for lhd its reversed, to good to be true hey lol, iv looked at a few kits on ebay and this looks by far the best as it got a hell of a lot of stuff, the sellars feedback is 99.1 possitive so must be fine, still just thinking about it at this stage but all in all do you lot think that kit is worth buying? if i went down the turbo route? tinks
  7. cheers for the reply id be uprating the injectors and fuel pump, also id get it remapped when everything is done, what do you mean about the compression of the engine?

  11. Im definately in got a mate with a 1.8t golf who'd come aswell
  12. sorted had to tow it to golf to get it done but they reset the ecu imobiliser code, got it back and the battery light was on turns out id put the alternator live to earth...woops, that might be why it lost its code, its fine now and im so happy iv got my car back
  13. could i not just take the chip out of that key then put it in my key? i might try like u said calico the pick up ring first as its the cheapest option

  15. nope the alarm iv got fitted is an ebay jobby, but even with the fuse out the car still does the same thing, its just for central locking remotely really

  17. just opened my key up looked a bit harder and found the chip, do u know how to remove the imobiliser itself or can that not be done?
  18. hello mate thanks for the reply, my mate cleared all codes several time and it did the same each time, iv opened up my key and cant see a chip in it, read somewhere its a little green one but there nothing other than the light
  19. had some progress iv got a mate who's run a diagnostic on it and its come up with fault code 17978 which is imobiliser, and the ecu also came up saying not authorised, is there anychance i have locked my ecu somehow from having it disconnected from the battery for a day? can i bypass the imobiliser? didn't even think it had one
  20. iv got an alarm on that i fitted myself which doesn't have an immobiliser but yeh it turns off and on fine, earth points are attatched and were cleaned aswell, is there anyway i can reset the ecu?
  21. my house mates got a vr6 but the earlier engine model and i swapped the crank sensors over, the plugs are the same but my sensor has a rubber seal, didn't disconnect the battery tho, still didn't start either
  22. yeh i have done a search and thats been mentioned but i just cant think why its just sudenly started doing it, i did have the battery disconnected from the car over night while i waited for a new clutch do u think it could have wiped something?

Hey everyone, iv just changed the clutch on my vr, all went well and i did the job, whilst it was up on the axle stands i started it up to check everything was fine which its was the car started and stayed on. i revved it a bit then turned it off literrally a minute later i went to start it again and now it wont stay on, it starts then just dies straight away. Anyone got any ideas? starter motor is fine as it starts, fuel pump sounds like its running on turn over, theres obviously a spark cos it starts then stops. Im thinking its got to be a sensor or sum sort but its strange how its just deve

Yeh its obd1, i will give what u said a try hopefully tomorrow, just seems odd that the car runs fine when the isv valve is blocked didn't know if the throttle might be open slightly to allow it to still runs, might have to take the throttle to bits give it a good clean and put it back together. i didn't cover the main air intake tho, was thinkin it might be the maf is there a way of cleaning it? thanks for the reply
