I got a USB VAG Com cable from e-bay some time ago, I went to Ross Tech to download some software. I'm really confused as to what software to download, does anyone know? The cable I bought is a USB, it has the marks OBDII on it, it has pins 2, 4, 5, 7, 15, 16, and came with a small CD, made by Mediasave in south Yorkshire. Any help would be appreciated

try replacing the temperature coolant sensor, it's cheap and easy, it's the blur colour plug, bu the thermostat in the UK they are about £15 GBP, only buy this part from VW as there's a lot of crap out there..

I had the same problem when I took my VR into a VW dealership they called me to say that car was running and now it isn't after 3 days they got in an auto electriction at my request as I have driven it to the delarship and they were blaming my Cliffors alarm. Turns put that VW delaership blew a fuse number 14 or 15, try replcing these fuses.sure it's 15 Let me know how it goes

how do you change the thermostat housing?
M4VTY replied to fritzenberg's topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
I did mine on the weekend, its about a 2 hour job, first unplug the leads from the coil pack, make sure you mark them on what lead went where, remove the plastic housing above the coil pack, to remove the coil pack you need I think 6ml allen key. unplug all the wires from the 3 sensors, the blue yellow and other one if you have it, on the side of the thermostat there is one allen key bolt holding the housing to the engine and 2 other long bolts"you will need a long allen key to remove this" the others you will be able to do with a small allen key. then unplug all the pipes to the thermostat h -
I filled my VR fuel tank shows full then after 10 miles I'm now seeing 3 quarters of a tank, after 20 miles I'm now looking at a qauter of a tank on the fuel gage. I think I have a faulty fuel sender, does anyone know where the fuel sender is located and how it's changed? I dont have a fuel leak as I tried to fill the tank again and its full.... Please help

Thanks v much for the advice, is there any need to remove the front bumber so I can get to this canister and fit the hose or can I just disconect the the hoses and give it a whack. I'm going to remove the headlight and sidelight first is that all I need to dothen feed the hose through?
-
I dont use my aircon anyway that's what windows are for should the pipes to the canister be cut and blocked or is that a bad thing? if you had to remove the canister on your VR what did you do with all the shit thats connected to it?
-
That's why I want the air hose in, the car is too loud on motorways running with a power flow exhaust system also., Ive ben told that if your car has air conditioning that you can't fit the hose without removing the charcoal canister and relocating it somewhere else......? Are there any other ways to install the hose?

I've just taken delivery of my brand new BMC CDA induction kit and fitted it "looks good" the only thing I am a little puzzled on is where to route the induction hose to as there is very little room to actually route it anywhere. Can anybody here help or point me in the right direction, I'm sure someone has had this problem before.

Either a head gasket or your thermostat get's stuck open. try changing the thermostat that's the chaper option.
