  1. Now smells like its running pretty rich, is there any way I could check this ising vagcam? Car has no charcoal canister if that makes a difference. Ken
  2. No mate that'd be quite a trip from Glasgow lol Checked all the leads were in correctly, the were. Some of the plugs looked/smelt oily, 4, 6 and 5 being the worst offenders. All cylinders are firing cos I took each lead off while running and it nearly stalled. Also unplugged the MAF and there was no difference so is that the cause of all this? Ken
  3. I didnt gap the plugs just bought them from vag and put them in, what should I gap them too? Steam was coming from the breather on the rocker, where the pipe usually goes into the inlet but thats blocked off and I have a small filter, was more steamy than smokey could it be cos the cars not ran for about a month? My old plugs also seemed a bit oily when I changed them. What issues could come from over tightening the plugs?
  4. I tried the leads (well 1 and 5 anyway) on another vr when I was trying to find the original problem and they worked fine. Surely if it ran ok though for the first ten minutes the the leads are on ok? I dont have the specific tool for the leads btw I just pressed them on til they clicked with long flat punch. Also, can I over tighten the plugs as they are in the pretty solid. Thanks Ken

Evening all I had a missfire on the car and turned out to be the coilpack wasnt sending a spark to 1 and 5, replaced the coilpack and it ran ok for about 10 15 minute then when i went to go round the block to make sure all is well and its now missing all over the place. coilpack is sending a spark to all the cylinders and the plugs are brand new, on the overrun the car was very smokey and i'm getting some steam/smoke from an oil breather on the rocker. Could i have badly worn piston rings causing the oily smoke or overrun and losing compression making it run like a burst arse. Hope someone c
  6. How much would you need the wishbone lowered by? I've been looking at either buying these or having some made up, been sketching up ideas for a bit. Ken
  7. I think you should do it down to the swage line at the door handle so the whole upper side on the car is chequered, slap some polished 928s and your laughing.

  10. Evening all Come payday i'm wanting to get a few things done to the car, needs two new tyres and the pads and discs are pretty worn too. I've only had T1Rs on the car but see quite alot of people are running the Parada spec2 n wondered what peoples opinions were on them? As for pads and discs i dont really know whats available for the vr, i've only ever used standard items so can you guys recommend me some? Thanks in advance Ken

  15. Been looking into these seem to be the cheaper alternative to Garrett dual bb but with similar spool ups and are ultra stong, but they dont seem to have an A/R as such. The one i was looking at had some specs but they mean nothing to me can you gurus help me out, heres what i've got . . . . 82mm compressor wheel 56mm inducer 12cm2 T3 compressor housing Hope that means something to somebody and can help me out lol Ken

  17. Cheer bungy you make it sound easy, that turbo has a 90 day warranty so dont think it'd even last that long lol
  18. It cant be true?! How are you managing to turbo your car for £750?? I cant even seen to find a decent vr suitable second hand turbo never mind new stuff. Teach me! Please!

    Emailed CCR to get a few pics of the 20v and 24v VR6 setups see whats what. Cheers again for the pics John.
  24. My engine has the single chain setup the spare i have is twin chained, does this mean I cant swap the two?
