Popping under hard acceleration
vimtovento replied to vimtovento's topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
Vento is N/A my MPG is not too great 260 ish miles to a tank when on a run. I'm thinking i might a vacuum pipe thats leaking.... And i'm over fueling i think... Doing my head in! -
Guys/Gals, My Vento has started to pop quite loudly between gear changes when giving it some stick. Any ideas as to what would start to cause this? Could this be linked to over/under fueling? Cheers Phil

power loss at high rev's
vimtovento replied to vimtovento's topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
The gauage had it hooked up to dianostics but i don't know if it was Vagcom, nothing showing on there. But being an earlier engine i'm not sure if the Cam sensor would show up? If it is the Cam sensor whats the damage? Is it Vag only part? -
Guys, The saga continues with my VR, coolant sensors check out ok, i've had the injectors professionally cleaned yet after 3.5K rpm the engine revs but no power at all, its using a load of fuel as well. I'm really going mad at the moment. Any ideas? *-) I have the car booked in for a rolling road session next week to try and get to the bottom of this problem, so if you could possible give me some pointers that would be a great help. BTW the engine is a 6 month old re-manufactured vege engine OBD1 if that helps? Cheers Phil

My OBD1 Vento also has three switchs in the housing. With regards to over fueling are you getting a cloud of brownish smoke if you boot it? I am and i'm getting quite a rich smelling exaust (like my carbed rocco used to smell like) could this be caused/solved by replacing the temp sensor like you mention above? I thought it might be the MAF going faulty?

You may be right there Phil. Vege tech help mentioned the same thing, I bloody well hope its something as easy as this...... :@ I've ordered a neuspeed 160 degree stat and low temp fan switch to see if this helps matters.

Hi Guys, Question for you, I had a Vege remanufactured engine fitted in April this year. All was going well run in nicely oil changed at 1K and now serviced at 4K. Over the weekend i've lost power will not rev over 3.5K no pull at all. I checked the hoses after a 4 mile journey and they where hard as nails. I allowed the engine to cool for 10 mins then popped off the header tank cap, it was like an eruption! Left it for another couple of minutes started her up and the dredded bubbles appeared. Seems like a Head Gasket gone, but no oil in water or vice versa, no water in the exhaust? Seems stra
