  1. 1.8t's are gutless aint no replacement for displacement kid 😉
  2. Good effort mate I did similar but I cocked it up and carried on regardless lol best way to learn is from mistakes.
  3. Patience is the key I had all the right gear but still manage so bollock one arch up lucky it needed replacing anyway.
  4. I've done it my self and Pete is right only used it once lol
  5. Looks like you got some fun times on your hands there mate. I hate working on or behind the dash board it's just awkward you neither in the car or out.
  6. Ok to answer your question all the Vw bearings have the nail so yes you have every right be worried about starting it but what is done is done now so you may as well start it
  7. Vauxhall calibra turbo's are rare as these days all the corsa boys have poached the engines for there crapy cars what's that about calibra was 4wd and quite a nice motor un-touched by chavs.
  8. I would always use Vw bearings its not a area you should scrimp your motor it being the hart of the car. Plus there like £7 each not exactly big bucks. The 701c has been superseded by the 701d and just lately the 701e the current bearings available from Vw these are realy good there made out of 3 different metals and are Teflon coated for low friction.
  9. A guy local to me does it I'm sure he only chages £100-£150
  10. If you end up replacing I recommend helix 5 paddle I've put 600bhp through mine no slippages.
  11. Just realised memberships ran out will renew tomorrow
  12. Just re insured my vr6 with Adrian flux and I'm happy to say I'm chuffed to bits with the price I've been given for my vr6 turbo I'm 23years old and have 4 years no claims bonus and I've just been quoted £1300 which I thinks amazing considering my car is over double the power of standard.
  13. I'm lucky if mines out 6 times a year these days that busy with work commitments and other stuff. So mine gets redlined every time I drive it because I'm that happy to be out in her and by does she love it!!!
  14. Milltek all the way on a n/a vr6 the best sounding exhaust by far!
  15. R32's use 84mm pistons so if you had a 12v with 83.5mm pistons and r32 crank you would be near as dam it but the r32 has a far better head and higher compression so what's the point. You may as well fit a r32 motor it would be cheaper in the end.
  16. How are you achieving 3.1? As the largest pistons normally for a vr6 are 83.mm which make a true 3 litre. Or are you running 82.5mm with r32 crank?
  17. Your best ringing him for the best prices as FedEx ain't available as a option online think there cheaper.
  18. New clutch release bearing is a must if that little bad boy goes once its all back together you will be sick as a chip.
  19. Just strip the aaa to just the bare engine then put all the 2.9 ancillarys on to it then fit it jobs a good one.
  20. Ebc blue/green/red stuff are not worth buying and are crap the only acceptable pad in the ebc range is the yellow stuff but I would put my money on ferodo ds2500 if I were you.
  21. 30 psi on 98 octan pump gas. Above 30 psi the 35R is out of breath. I also got a Autometer fuel pressure gauge. Abit pricey' date=' but its a cheap insurance. The Pro-Maf togheter with a adj fpr allows me to set the AFR where I want it. My AFR is set at around 11.7 - 12.1 full boost. AN6 flows plenty. AND the Integrated tank keeps the 044 quite. I used to have the 044 mounted alone next to the fuel filter, and it was crazy loud. [/quote'] Thanks mate time to go pro maf and max the 35r out then its billet compressor wheel time lol.
  22. I just used some sort of cable tie arrangement to secure the walbro in the standard swirl pot. Not the most proffecional arrangement but has worked a treat for the last 3 years
  23. Sounds good what's the most boost you have run on the pro maf setup?
  24. I have a walbro 255 in the tank feeding a 2.5 litre swirlpot then Bosch 044 to the fuel rail depends what power your after I'm going 700bhp so I feel it's necessary but anything under 500bhp walbro 255 in tank is all good.
