Yeah do the water pipe too. They're VERY brittle and will probably break when you look at it. Think the pipe was 15 quid from TPS and it comes with the 2 rubber O rings.

Mine has just sailed through an MOT, apart from a number plate bulb. Milltek decat, charged and stealth remap.

I can't see how it would stop you from reading codes or values by having an already mapped ecu. When my mate took his s3 to be remapped, it had been mapped with a revo trial thing that fucked about with the ecu. You could read settings on vagcom and clear codes but it wouldn't remap. Ended up buying a passat 1.8t ecu and having his immobiliser chip fitted into it!!

Should I be concerned?

My vr runs at around 70 on the gauge and 92 oil. In traffic it sits slap bang in the middle and around 92-98 oil. My thermostat is a neuspeed low temp thermostat but no low temp fan switch. Try www.awesome-gti.co.uk for low temp parts. -
Hello again. How much difference would there be if I went with 195/50/15's instead of 205/50/15's? I know there's 10mm width difference but would it be noticeable on a charged vr? My car spins with 205's easy enough with new proxies in the dry but lookin to try r888's up front. 195 seem about 50 quid cheeper though!! Any help would be much appreciated!! Also, what is the recommended tyre size for 16's? I've got a set of bbs split rims off a mk4 golf / bora and looking to wrap them in a decent set of tyres. Are 205/45/16 the tyres to be after? Not after stretching tyres as i've heard the

Get a blue one from VW. £4 i think.

Problem sorted now. Turned out the air flow meter was too close to the charger!

Yeah, that's the one

Standard brown injectors. There on the way back from ultrasonic cleaning at the min and I should have them fitted tomorrow sometime. Ive also fitted a brand new throttle body (genuine) just in case any of the idle sensors or TPS wasplaying up. Before fitting the new TB, I already tried adapting the old one in group 98 on vagcom. It said adaption OK but the butterfly seemed to judder rather than sweep?

From what I know, all the off the shelf systems are near enough the same size as standard. I fitted my milltek directly to my standard cat and fitted a milltek decat 3 months later. There all about 55mm I think. Buy a new sleeve connector from trade parts specialists (TPS), it's the cheapest place for them and there the right size! (Connects the cat / decat to the centre piece of exhaust) Become a premium member and you'll save even more on it.

I've not got the standard chip. When Vince remapped the car, he never give me a standard chip. I'm going back down to him on Wednesday to see if I can get this problem sorted. If my injectors come back today, I'll get it back together and get you the readings. Ive checked them before, just can't remember the values!

Have you had it on vagcom? You could do with getting it on vagcom and try clearing the fault codes. Maybe try adapting the throttle body if you've had it disconnected?

Could also be a low temp thermostat. I've got one fitted in mine and on the motorway it sit's at 80 and traffic rises to the middle. -
Hello all. After spending lots of money on all kinds of bits to try and get my car running right, I'm still having no luck. If I clear the fault codes with VAGCOM, the car runs OK for a while until the lambda learned part load in group 4 on VAGCOM get's to -25% When I'm driving the car around the lambda regulation tends to stay at about -25% unless I've got my foot down and then it hovers around 0%. I've checked around most of the hoses in the engine bay looking for vacuum leaks but can't get this fault fixed. The only fault codes I get are:- Monday, 04 October 2010, 17:33:54 VAG-COM Vers

After all my messing about, it turns out the lambda was the fault. The car was hesitating on acceleration, irratic idle, really, really bad fuel consumption and cutting out sometimes. Ben's lambda wasn't working quite right but it cured my drivability problems. My car is running standard injectors, 4 bar fpr, walbro pump, Stealth remap for my z-eng. ZR-2 charger @ 6psi. Vince suspected the MAF so it had a new one from TPS. Didn't work so tried new temp sensors which resulted in needing crack pipe then oil cooler hoses!! New leads from euro, new oem plugs, new oem fpr.

Congratulations mate. 2 girls and a mother though?! Your in the same boat as me; a big sinking ocean liner and only a plastic cup to bail it out, doesn't matter how hard you try, your goin down boi!! 7yr's and 20months for me!! Hope the rest are well and good luck or the future!!! <>

Might go off the original subject a bit but..... What are the reccommended plugs and / or leads for a supercharged VR? I'm currently running Euro car parts (OEM spec) leads and mk3 GTi 16v plugs. Leads are 12 month's old and plugs are 6 month's old. Car is running shit at the min and I've changed the filter, maf, coolant temp sensors but still no luck. Running out of things to try. Waiting on Ben's Lambda to arrive, gonna try another FPR and get my spare standard injectors sent for ultrasonic cleaning (Vince wants another £450 to remap my car for redtops, not worth it i don't think???)
