  1. Just buy an aircon pump from a scrap yard for £20.
  2. It's a pin that extends through the holes in the tower via a hydraulic switch. On my machine, we use it for the quick hitch to change between different size buckets or breakers.
  3. 7pkXXXX. I can't remember the exact length of the belt but that is the right code. The belts for cars with zircon is 7dpkXXXX and they are double sided.
  4. Maybe theres a break in the vacuum pipe for the locks. try pulling the rubber back between the door shut and see if its on properly or kinked.
  5. Tax is £260 a year for them but I'm more interested on common faults that I should look for when I go to view or buy. I've got vcds so I'll plug it in and check everything's ok but I don't know anything about mk4's really. Cheers for the input.
  6. As above, my mum is looking to buy something that won't "slip about in the snow". She'll keep it til it fails an mot but it will be looked after by me, vagcom and hopefully you lot!! Just want to know what I need to look at when viewing 4mo's and what 'known faults' I should look for or have been fixed by the previous owner or VW. I'm looking at 2001 51 or newer with service history, 100k or less, under 4k and leather interior. Any help would be appreciated!
  7. The revision letter makes no difference to the pin allocation or the plug shape! But I went through 14 to get the right one with the right info
  8. The letters at the end are different revisions. You need the same part number but the last letter can be different.
  9. It's a standard port, even on yours. They changed to it on a K plate. If yours is 93, they will be 280mm
  10. Yes some sensors can malfunction without an error code from the ecu. You need to get it plugged into vagcom or another code reader and tell us the faults or the error codes.
  11. What can I say???? Tj-Cia3_Btw
  12. I'll come down but my cars not in top notch just yet. Got to go back to paint man coz of a reaction?! Paints split under the laquer! If I go my mate and brother will probably come down in their VR's too.
  13. I would say Windsor blue going off your year. Look in your boot for a sticker, it has all the option codes and paint code on it.
  14. Revive an old thread rather than starting a new one. I've measured my belt and it's approx 1690mm long, 7 ribs and double sided. I can't find anything in car / commercial catalogues. My idler bracket permits about +/- 20mm variation, possibly more. Can I get one from a motor factors or can brammer make custom belts up?
  15. I bought mine off eBay. M12 x 1.5 x 40mm cap bolts 12.9 high tensile bolts
