  1. Have you turned the switch up where your headlight switch is? ;-). Try eBay, maplins or rs components.
  2. Check the wires in the rubber boot between the door and chassis. My earth wire had split once in the boot
  3. What years your vr? The later ones don't have the bias if they have abs apparently. I've got s3 312mm brakes up front with ebc ultramax discs and red stuff ceramic pads. On the back I've got standard size ebc ultramax discs and red stuff ceramics again. I'm running 275bhp and have plenty of confidence with my brakes, even out braking mk5 r32's from speed. I looked into the Porsche calipers upfront but they won't fit under 16" BBS. I had to grind the top of the s3 calipers to make them fit my wheels. I needed the calipers, carriers, pads, discs and I made a spacer out of 6mm ally plate.
  4. I did mine without removing front end. A bit fiddly but it can be done. Is there not locating lugs on the cooler or the seals? I'm sure this was why mine took so long to get on right. I used my old cooler and new seals from tps when mine had a slight leak
  5. There isn't a lot of vacuum lines running off the manifold so try pinching the lines to see if that helps. Get it on vagcom though for a detailed fault code list or anyone with a cheap fault code reader could point you in the right direction.
  6. Tps (trade parts specialists) there could be a branch near you, owned by vw and you can save upto 25% with premium membership if you sign up and it's only £10 now. For that you get extra hits, tips and how-to's plus other discounts at nationwide outlets and insurers.
  7. Www.eurocarparts.com This would be my first option. Failing this, any fuel pump from a petrol mk3 golf will fit as an emergency thing but won't cope with the demand of a heavy foot. I'm sure if you look on eBay.co.uk and choose nearest first, someone will be able to help you out
  8. Rubbing on what? If its rubbing on your tyre the you've either got the camber wrong or the wrong offset wheels
  9. As a few people have told you already, and there not the dumbest people on here by a long shot, just put it back on! The dampers are set to travel by a set amount; meaning the helper spring is designed to compensate the lowest settings. Removing the spring will shorten the life of your suspension, fail your mot and put yours and other peoples lives in danger. If your really after the lowest suspension n the sh|t ride, then go with what you've got but don't say we didn't warn you!!!
  10. If it's a standard immobiliser it would show up. Lambda wouldn't stop it starting but fuel pump would. Get it plugged into vagcom just to be sure!
  11. Mine used to do it and it was a bit of metal bent near the weight on the gearbox. Only when going for reverse. Get the missus to go for reverse whilst you have a good look round the weight. You'll see it moving when se goes for any gears.
  12. If yours is a corrado the you'll only have 4 lines. The later golfs have 6 lines, 2 from the rear caliper to the metal line then 12" down there's another 2 at the axle. The other 2 obviously are the front ones. As for downloading, if you look hard enough you'll find it. I had mine all cracked and working properly but I bought the genuine cable for later can bus support.
  13. I have the same problem also. New door seal from vw should cure it, it's on my 'to do' list.
  14. Yeah that should be ok. From memory, 200ml is used when you bleed your abs pump with vagcom. Suck all the fluid you can out of the reservoir. Then either use a pressure bleeder or a mate and bleed the system as you would. To bleed the abs pump, follow the instructions on vagcom if you have it. If not, ask someone on here that has it and in your area.
  15. Keep an eye out on eBay. I paid ~£250 for my milltek brand new with lifetime guarantee. It was used on displays at vw shows, but never fitted to a car. My full milltek system cost under £350
  16. Going off topic a bit but that might be an average price where you live. We're in a place that charge almost £1.40 a litre for petrol!! Expensive job just to fill her up and that's just for standard unleaded!!
  17. Bosch part no: 0 392 020 024 I got it from s a motor spares, longsight, Manchester. Tel:0161 257 2021 Make sure you say you want the bosch part though and not a copy. They got me a copy in first and I told them I wanted a genuine Bosch. They give the Bosch number instead of vw part number and i got my new bosch part and a rennet back. Bargain!
