  1. Hi all im going to be supercharging my vr after xmas and i just wanted a bit of advice on things, my current vr lump is in a bit of a sorry state its done 176thou miles and im pretty sure the head gasket has now gone, for this reason would i be better of buying another lump and rebuilding, i want to keep the car on the road as much as possible really so i suppose the obvious answer would be to buy another engine and rebuild in the garage, When rebuilding what are the most important things i should do, i want to run as close to 300bhp as poss with a supercharger, will standard rod/pistons be up
  2. Thanks for your opinions guys, not sure what im going to do as of yet, My water level warning light came on yesterday checked my coolent the bottle was empty! topeed it up an ran the car to look for a leak found one some where at the front of the engine but also my coolent is really frothing up like it has washing up liquid in it!!! not a good sign! going to get a hydrocarbon test done asap and a compression test but i reckon the head gasket`s gone. Bloody typical as soon as i start to look into tuning the dam thing, oh well could be the perfect excuse for some head work maybe lol. Cheers Wor
  3. I must admit i did think it would be more gimmicky than anything else, I v never driven an s/c`ed car before how to they compare to a turbo? i do love the surge of power a turbo gives you when hitting full boost, do you get that from an s/c?. I want to keep the car totally road legal an also use it regually, so loosing the weight will have to be kept sensible lol an i suppose i can carry a spare set of front wheels to any track maybe with some cut slicks so i will deffo consider these options, thanks rigs mate. The vr so should of had a factory lsd, what would you be looking at price wise go
  4. Hi all been a premium member for a while but just been a lurker and only posted a couple of times. Right the time has come to start modding my VR, iv got an m plate obd1 standard apart from hks mushroom filter (i had laying around the garage from a previous car). I want to s/c the car and was also thinking about fitting some sort of launch controll, something like the bee r limiter or similar i just wanted to know the pro`s and con`s of using this with an S/C fitted, would it be wise, worth while?. I want to use the car on the quarter mile a few times a year not competivily just for my own en

  6. Hi all my vr has just failed its mot, one of the things it failed on is marked down as Nearside rear (load sensor valve) braking system leaking, is this also known a brake biased valve or a brake pressure regulator or brake compensating valve, just searching the net looking for prices as my local garage has told me the part is going to cost £180 .
