Plugs seem to be okay just tried an old headunit and there was no pwer at all wouldnt even eject with engine/light on. Think i'll drop it in to the garage let them have a look. What is it about mk3's and electrics!

Alright chilblanes just got a boggle - changed a headunit around in my vr yesterday then went to morrisons with tunage...got back in car and radio would not switch on at all so i just shrugged it off and took my shopping home. Anyway turns out that now my radio will only function when my lights are on ;S Just wondered if this has happened to anyone on here and what the crack is. Reeeeegards.

Dude have you got the one that leads from the thermo housing and goes up to the bottle and somewhere round the back? Mine split the other day and ive bodged it so wouldnt mind replacing it.

I bought one from GSF the other day for my '94 obd1 and it turned out the plug was the latter rounded one when it should have been the square type. They even put my reg in the computer to match the part so god knows mate just thought i'd stick ma beak in

Ok i'll ask. Its the waiting around too tho isnt it as its a lengthy job. So far the chain works been quoted at £639 which I thought wasn't so bad really.

Ye its looking that way. Had a scout today so might get them ordered tommorrow if my garage can't find em. I've got other garages i'm waiting on quotes near me so kent is a wee bit of a trek lol. Cheers.

Hi! I've just joined the 6 cylinder club and wondered if there was anyone in the staffs area who does timing chains/other engine work on them? My usual garage says thier having trouble sourcing all the parts so I don't know if thier just muggin me off to be honest. Its an obd1 1994 lump. Many tanks.
