looking to do mine after xmas 2! cant wait, looks mint m8, massive respect, shame about the plastic rocker cover though, if you have trouble finding metal one, i can get you one, postage would be from south wales.

recently i completed another mk2 vr6 conversion, i bought a mk3 vr6 1995 5dr model and a mk2 golf, i basically swapped everything onto the mk2 and all was going well, i then used the wiring loom from the mk3 put it all in but decided not to use the mk3 adjustable steering column because i had another which was from another mk2 vr6 and would slot straight in, so i fit it all then, 10 minutes later after splicing in the other mk2 vr6 steering column, remembered the immobiliser and chip in the key from the mk3, meaning that the beast wont start without these things, so id completed the wiring and

I know that the 4motion v6 4x4 gearbox fits on the 12v vr6, but does a 2007 r32 manual and DSG box? the only reason i ask is that i can get a 07 DSG box from an r32 for a bargain price of £130, but its pointless if it dont fit? obviously substantial chassis work has to be done first, but i could petentially turn my mk2 vr6 to 4x4 for under £500! Only from pictures it looks as if the manual r32 box is identical to the 4motion box, but the dsg box has some differences, can anyone help? cheers steveo
