Oh well today is a sad day had my wheels delivered this week and guess what, they dont fit, well the front ones dont anyway, they touch the caliper and leave a space of 20mm or more. gonna purchase some spacers but i believe they will stick out to far, so looks like they will be up for sale. I did manage to get one wheel on the back, but i had to remove the plastic centre from the wheel and line up the holes. Dont worry did not drive anywhere just pushed it forward and backward, but i will defo need some arch work if the sapcers work out. in case your wondering the wheels are 17 x 8.5 all rou -
Off to Halfords then in the morning, thats if my wheels fit.

My VR6 Cabrio *UPDATED 28/04/2009*

Oh ok, when i collected the car everything he said was a straight swap, the only problem i had which you can probably see from the pictures above before i lowered the car, the front was higher than the rear, and the car drove like a boat in a storm, if i hit a bump or a ditch in a road, the car would bounce all over the place. going round corners sometimes felt like i was driving on oil, since the lowering and new shocks, it handles perfect. The wheels i have above are 5x100 but i know when i put them on tomorrow they will stick out pass the arches as the standard BBS are not that far off. Loa -

Will get some pictures of the ICE' date=' but to be honest its not that fancy, in fact its quite bland, the components are hidden by the spaeker covers, the EQ is in the glove box, so the only thing on show is the head unit, screens and bass knob, but i will take some of the box in the boot, might try to jazz it up a bit next year lol. on the subject of the 5 stud conversion, it was done by a personal friend so i have no idea what you mean by wide trac the car??? i thought it was a straight swap, with a little mod here and there. obviously not lol. if you can explain what you mean, i can fin -
Ok my car is kind of coming together now, dont know if it looks better or worse but i am happy with it at the moment, when i first bought the car it looked like this which i think was a nice look. After coming from a 315bhp E30 M3 BMW to a 1.8 75 or 95 bhp motor I truly believed I could cope with the loss in power and performance, but it was not to long before I started missing the power and found my new VW Golf gutless lol. I started looking around on loads of sites for conversions to do, and the VR6 conversion seemed the most affordable for me to do, with the less hassle. I was given the c

If i find any that are more than £35, I wont be buying them lols, i am looking for an oustanding product if one exists for pennies, yes i am as tight as they come lol. If not like i said off to good old halfords

Yeah i know its probably a no brainer but was just wondering what you guys use to protect your precious wheels. I know most wheel locks can be removed if your in the know how, but do i pay £18 from VW, EPS, EUROS or GSF, or do i go halfords and spend £35 for thatcham approved wheel locks or is there a hidden wheel lock i dont know about. thanks in advance. PS: I know this is a minor but after losing wheels locks in the past and seeing how easy they were to be removed, and seeing how some of you have wheels worth ££££'s, just need a point in the right direction

Notice i think in changing your wheels you have gone from 4 stud to 5 stud which means you have changed over the braking system also, how is it going, and did you fit the ABS, as my ABS was not fitted, and my braking is a little dodgy at the moment. Nice wheels by the way, what size are they, offset, tyres, width, etc bought some old skool 17" rims just waiting for them to arrive, but think i am going to be in problems fitting them.

I know this is not the route you want to go but having this program and your decks wired in will solve the problem and also should enhance your show, as you will have lots of things to play with.
-
Or you could download a program legit (ha ha) called Vitual DJ, tranfer all your vinyls to Mp3 or Wave files which consist of connecting one of your decks to your pc using the above cables, and your good to go. i know its not as good as the real thing but it is fun. Vitual Dj has the following: spinback, EQ, Video mixing, filters, sound effects, jingles (create your own), beat match (for those who cant mix lol), you can scratch, add you decks to it so you have four decks playing instead of two, sample and loads more, but most important, a broad cast feature, so while your mixing, you can give

Its cool, I use to be a mechanic once upon a time working on Black Taxis lol, no one would think so if they met me. I kept the can, and followed the instructions about relocating the canister under the battery tray only to realize, my battery tray is different to the norm as my car is not a VR6 originally but a 1.8 cabrio, but i found a place fo locate it and at the moment its cable tied until i can complete my bracket for it, but other than that it tokk around 2.5 to 3 hours, including a snack break, and loads of talking. But its on and sounds to excellent to me.

hi all, as above, I received my Carbonio today and the instructions seem to be from another planet being America/Canada, my mate reckons this would have been straight forward, but does not look so to me, Drilling, Charcoal Filter, Rellocation, Pipes Air Breather off air box etc What, i dont understand LOL, can anyone point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance.

Did you have to re-con the charger? and what part of kent/medway are you in' date=' am in wainscott. Patvr6, last time around we saw a lot of cars that wernt bm,s so i do not think you will any trouble runing. plus you are famous (sp) part of custom cars and front page perfromance bmw mag, that should help, no? [/quote'] LOL, Famous far from it.
-
wont be able to make this one but defo the next, getting some bits and pieces first the hardest thing at the momnent is getting a decent set of 16" deep dish or split rims, so expensive.
-
You should not tell someone like me your a mechanic' date=' i might start stalking you lol, since you have the ultimate version to my car, and start putting loads of money in your pocket, which is a good thing. I have my mates edging me on to get a charger, the to makes they recommend are Lysholm & i think the other is Bahn Bremmer or something like that, they reckon i will get upto around 300bhp how true this is i dont know, but at a cost of £1500 to £3000 a little out of my budget at the moment maybe next year or something. What has you Charger set you back? [/quote'] well i got a se

I miss the Rear wheel drive, but i know this is going to sound silly i actually prefer the VR front whel driv. my BM was a nightmare in the rain, and because i spent so much money on the BM, i hardly drove it, I was to afraid something would go wrong, it spent most of its live in a lock up, hence the sale. Maybe one day i will go back, but for now i am going to get my full pleasure out of the VR. I am really enjoying my VR and i can drive it as hard as possible and dont have to worry about the back kicking out.
