Ironic, when the chains were rattling i spent the whole time feeling paranoid that they were gonna fail, then i got em done and BANG, misery sets in :-|
-
Turns out the timing chains i had fitted 3 weeks ago were not tensioned correctly, all i know so far is the crank turns but the cams dont, the garage have already agreed to do the full re-build free of charge, they are very keen to sort it out with no fuss so all good there, time for some shrick cams perhaps.

hi everyone, my vr started to run a bit lumpy, so i started with the usual suspects by changing the plugs and leads, this helped but it still wasn't right so i looked at the coil pack and that was corroded so i replaced it, but still no change, i then went on to change the ecu relay and then the fuel pump relay, still lumpy :@ When i say lumpy it seems to be ok after 4000 rpm but until then gti boys are chewing on my arse :@ So i thought it can only be the air flow meter as everything else is new, so with the engine running i un plugged the sensor plug and it made no difference to the way it

hi y'all had a thought today on how to shiny up my engine bay, and saw this on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=290219080412&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=019 just wondered if it will work on an obd2, or has anyone got any good alternatives, cheers

I am hoping to receive my carbonio cold air induction kit in the post tomorrow, and in preperation for this i decided to remove the air box and clean the chassis leg underneath etc, but from what i can make out from where the filter sits there is a canister under the air box with two pipes going to it which looks to me like some sort of filter, firstly does this have to be replaced at any time, and secondly does it have to be moved to allow the carbonio filter to be fitted or does the filter fit above or below it??? any help on this would be great, cheers
