  1. Little update of my ride from this last weekend. Gotta sort out an intermittent missfire that pops up every now and then.
  2. Unless the family plans something I cant get out of, I'm in!
  3. Aaah, great! Well, may just do this then for the time being. Full Service, Clutch, tires and MOT. Anyone got Tony's number they can message me, or the workshop? Thanks guys. Really appreciate it.
  4. Yeah, I just cant scrap it. I love it too much, and it really is gorgeous! Will send tony a PM. From what I understood, the clutch is an engine out job, so doing the timing chains would be a good step? And if doing that, may as well do the head?
  5. Hi guys. Sorry dont post much, usually just lurk around. Anyways, the time has come for me to decide what to do with my VR. As I've been largely away travelling the last bit, I've kept my VR off the road (underground garage) for the past 3 months. Its MOT has expired, and its now come up on its 120k service (timing chains), and will need new tires for MOT. If I were to do the work, it would probably be worth while re-doing valve stem seals, as it puffs a little smoke if you coast for a while, and come back on throttle. So, to get it back and tip top, I guess I'm looking at about £2k. There is
  6. Hi Chaps. So, I got my VR about 6 months ago. Went to the Nurburgring two weekends ago, and a big roadtrip around Europe. The car used a little oil before, but it became apparent on the trip. It used about a pint per 1000km (600 or so miles). I also noticed, that if you coasting down a hill, usually a fairly long one, and then come on the throttle, there is a puff of smoke behind you when you do. You can see it thru the review mirror. Car has 118k miles on it. Also maaaay smoke a little and high RPM full throttle, but havent been able to confirm it, it just looks dusty behind the car at night
  7. Thanks! Now, any ideas as to the offset required for 16"s, and then 17"s? Problem is, I dont know how much lee-way exists. Was hoping someone knows. Odd, but it doesnt seem to scrape at the top, it seems to scrape at the front of the rear arch. As the suspension compresses, the wheel doesnt move straight up, but forwards too.
  8. Sup guys! Okay, here is my car. Its a 1994 VR6, 110k miles, that I recently purchased. I've since then replaced the brakes, fixed a rust spot, and fitted a Bistein B12 suspension kit and H&R Springs. Now, its been great, but since fitting the kit, I cant take much weight, or hit a real hard bump without the rears scraping. Now, the rims need to be redone anyway, and I need new tires. I'm heading to Nurburgring in the first week of September. I dont think I want to run 17"s, rather 16"s, for more progressive steering. Looks arent important, drive is more so. I want 16s over 15s as I plan o
  9. Mmm. Okay, seems to be a big job. When is it recommended to change the timing chain and tensioner? some people seem to think its good for the life of the engine? Sorry to be a pain.
  10. Hi guys. I have just bought a VR6, with 111k on the clock, and picking it up tomorrow. I've moved here from South Africa, and have no idea who the best people in the business are to take the car to for some preventative maintenance. I know that if the cam chain goes, the motor can be thrown away. So, as a precaution, I want to have the belts, chain, thermostat, oil pump and water pump replaced. Better safe than sorry on these items. Who is the best to take the car to? I'm based in central London, but will travel a bit. Got a mate in Reading so that area would also work. Also, should I buy the
