since iv'e been having hassles with my 5speed (09B type, fitted on V6 since 2001) box i spent some time with the local VW workshop Sup who knows a bit about the Sharan. The ATF recommendation is DEXRON III or equivalent as minimum spec. VW ATF surely is expensive ... apparently there is a red fluid (that's how i know ATF to look like) and then VW uses a yellow oil in some boxes - filled for life ?? (apparently the 09B uses the yellow fluid - mine was red :-o) the filter on the 09B type box can only be replaced by removing and splitting the box !! i have VW documentation on the process of che
