  1. Have you got any pictures of the conversion? What Parts were needed? Storm developments sell a 6 branch manifold for this conversion into a mk3, About £400 i think. And Thanks for the offer on the Charger Pecca but will be fitting that to the R32 Engine. Will have theremainder of the vr kit though, all you would need to do is buy the charger.
  2. Also has very basic version of EBD aswell, Ever found a Brake Compensation valve on the rear axle of a VR?
  3. Have spoken to Storm and well impressed with Andy at Storm. Just need to pick his brains a bit more and see what problems other people have had. My 12v is Charged but want more power and its the £ to buy a R32 Lump and Standalone management. So im hoping to fit R32 Lump and my existing Charger. Defo Charge your VR, Rotrex Charger's are fantastic. Give Andy a ring at Storm. You wont regret putting the charger on!!!!
  4. Realy tempted to Replace my 12v with an R32 lump. Has anyone got an R32 Engine in thier Mk3? If so what was needed and how hard was the Engine to get in? Any idea on Cost? Any feedback would be great.
  5. If the ABS and Handbrake warning lights are on then you have lost Both speed signals from the same axle and the EBD isnt working. Does the ABS Light come on when you turn the ignition on?
  6. Binned the valve on mine and fitted a Catch tank on the N/S/F. Just looks better and dont think those valves are capable or resisting too much pressure
  7. Got some pictures of when i fitted my Rotrex. To big too post, If you have an email then i can send them to you.
  8. Bought mine from Ebay. Beware of the metal ones as these are crap. Mine came from america
  9. Running a Rotrex on mine, Rebuilt the engine before i charged it as was on 130,000miles. Best to start with a compression check to give you some idea on the condition of your engine. Just remember its never that simple as ive found out with mine. Got everything perfect and the fuel pump cant deliver enough fuel as tired so spending even more £ as a supercharged VR is well addictive Defo recomend the Rotrex Charger
  10. Sounds like outer CV Joint. Have you had a look to see if the gaiter has been leaking?
  11. Could be fuel pressure dropping when hot. Should hold pressure within line for hot starting
  12. Using VAGcom or 5051, The engine ecu learns the throttle valve positions. If you have cleaned the throttle valve and it cant learn its new idle position then the ecu will constantly try to correct causing the hunting. Is your car OBD2?
  13. What Year is your Car, You really need to carry out basic setting on the throttle valve once you have cleaned it, This stops the erratic idle
  14. Where are you located mate, May have the tool if you want to meet?
  15. The srews are security Torx bits, Can normaly buy the little magnetic screwdriver bits from halfords
  16. The Production process was changed on '95 and the panels were all galvanised. So only the pre 96 realy suffer from rot unless it has been repaired badly. Dont think the year on a mk3 went up to W on the age. W normaly stands for Wolfsburg which is where European Golfs are made
  17. Your Chassis number should start with WVWZZZ1HZ The next digit is Build Year. For Example S = 1995. The next letter is the Factory the Car came from For Example W = Wolfsburg. the rest of the numbers are just production run numbers
  18. No Rice, The VW Meet that was at Fleet services once a month? Thanks for your comments Bulldog.
  19. Hello mate, Not seen many white VR's. Not been on here long myself but it is a top forum. What other plans have got for the VR? Realy low milage for that year, got yourself a good buy there mate
  20. Do you still go to No Rice now that it is in Guildford?
  21. That is crap luck mate, I think everyone has unlucky cars. Had a Corrado G60 before the VR and was forever being Recovered after another part had fallen off or given up. Whats in the pipeline on the Dub front?
  22. Thanks for your replies, Especialy good to upset an M3 Owner.
  23. Rotrex Supercharger and engine Rebuild, £5,000 The look on an M3 owners face as i pull past him, Priceless!!!! Got overtaken by an M3 Cab, when the road opened up to two lanes i started to pull past him, He was seriously confused!!!!
