  1. after 3 1/2 long months I have a new impeller, Hayward superchargers sorted me one out . I have a new problem now though, Has anyone any experience of removing the bearings form the charger? I have removed the bearing unit with the shaft and bearings, but am at a loss as to how to remove the bearings themselves. Is there just the 2? or is there a 3rd one inside? thanks for any help
  2. not had a respose from any of them, vf no longer have any parts. I have found a few companies that make supercharger impellers though, so it may be a case of taking it appart and getting the dims of the impeller, and getting a match, well hopefully
  3. thanks for the replys, I have emailed both companies, and am now waiting on a reply
  4. ok i know what it is now, air silter has gone, and blower must have sucked something up. although there was no visible damage to the impeller, when I got the othe pipes off, bits of blade were lying in the charger and the compressor blades were marked. 2 of them gone. So anyone know where I can get another imnpeller form ????
  5. its a stage one zr 1, ribbed belts. Forgot to say the car stalled whrn I dipped the clutch before I pulled over, but then it started and ran fine after I had inspected it.
  6. Recently fitted a z-eng blower to my obd 2.9, no problems, leaked a little oil, but worked fine. Was out last night, and about a mile into the journey the chrger started to make a high pitched whining noise, it stopped again a couple of minutes later, and was replaced by a noise like someyhing hitting the blades, pulled over and took the pipes off, nothing. No marks on the blades either. Perfect. Went to pull off and the noise was still there, drove the 2 miles home, and the noise disapeared. There is now a very faint noise when slowing down, which I am sure wasnt there before. Could this be t
  7. thanks, the body shop were really good, i did consider just scrappin it at one point, glad i didnt now though
  8. started out life as a valver till i killed it, then put the 2.9 in it. mods so far incl obd 2 conversion, with chip, 268 cams, ususal induction kit and decat exhaust, WON wet shot nitrous system, currently only set to 50 shot, but being increased for GTi fest, Brembo 305mm brakes, Seat OZ wheels, usual coilovers. sitting waiting for it at the mo is a supercharger, just need to get 263/264 cams and save for the remap. did a 13.8 1/4 at VW action last year, hopefuly beat that soon. Hope you like pre accident couple at the ring some of the re-build following rear shunt :-(
  9. having had both, mk2 is a better handling car than the mk3, though the mk3 is deffinately a more refined animal

  11. as title really wasnted to know if its possible to change the oil yourself, and if so what oil you should use? cheers people

  13. road tax isnt too bad tbh, but fuel tax!!!!????!!!
  14. Remus are normally quite expensive i believe, so it would seem you got a bargain. I only ever heard one on a mk2 valver and it sounded wicked, so should be sound on a vr
  15. bout time lol been lookinf forward to this for ever lol!!
  16. i think that correct, scoobys have a blade that can be fitted in the bonnet scoop so that the air flows over all the intercooler, so it splits the air going through the scoop, instead of just the back of the intercooler. Hope that makes sense, not explained very well.
  17. ah right, so it can do as much damage a good. I am getting the car apinted in a month, so it probably would not be worth doing to new paint ?
  18. roughly how long to clay the car then?
