I've bought powerflex poly bushes for the subframe. I've got it off the car. There seems to be a large washer on the top of the bush and the bar that connects the two bushes below. I can't remove either of these they seem welded to the metal tube through the bush. How do I remove these? Any tricks ? I assume they must come apart and that I reuse the washer and tube on the new bushes. Any help would be appreciated !!! Cheers Jason

It's all to do with the Abs fault I had it on mine. Replace the abs light and scan for fault codes will most probably be a sensor. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I don't imagine it can be relocated well the standard one anyway. Do guys not usually switch to single race car style ones and new pedal boxes ? Cheers

I had this on my Vr. Turned out to be battery needing charged. It would do exactly as you describe. Die unless I gave it revs and rev terrible. Could be other things I'm sure. Start with the easiest first ! Hope u get it sorted.

Cheers Pete, I'm in a single garage and space is bloody tight. I wanted to avoid the hassle of engine out. If it needs to then ill need to bite the bullet ! Any ideas are mk3 sub frames all the same or must it be a Vr one? Cheers

I hate my car. Why does it fight me so much on everything ? Is it possible to drop the subframe without removing the engine and box ? I was thinking support engine with jacks and hoist. Tie up steering rack and bobs your uncle. ! Any thoughts ? Cheers

Cheers for the help. It's worse than I thought. I snapped the front mount bolt. I knew I'd done it but thought it had snapped just inside the threaded hole. Nope I've got just enough thread to stop the arm from pulling out. Any more ideas ? Cheers Jason

That looks like my brothers old vr. Mechanically well looked after. It's your decision mate, you'll only get biased views on here ! It's usually the test drive that sells a car. What did you think ? Jase -
My bro's car had this problem - only got switched live to radio on first click no lights. Any other position it was dead. We just used the perm feed. Just need to remember to switch it off ! Or replace the switch? Cheers Jase

I swapped out my engine for a lower mileage one a while ago. I decided to have a look at the chains tensioners etc. The upper guide has lost a big chunk (exactly the same place as the picture in the replacement guide in the knowledge vault!) This bit has then fallen down and got caught in the lower chain and guide. Its actually snapped the lower guide near the mount. Glad I changed engines now. I did know about the upper guide thats why I swapped. Its amazing the damage a bit of plastic can do !

I thought this and nearly drilled it out. Its actually a 5 or 6mm allen key hex headed bolt.

Never thought of that. Cheers for your help -
I'm wanting to do the chain guides and have an engine stand in the garage. The problem i've got is how do i mount the engine on the stand- usually you'd use the gearbox mount holes. But i need access to this end of the engine. Any ideas? Cheers Jase
