  1. i've got 167008 on the odometer and it runs like a swiss watch always look to replace induction tubes and the non return valve for the cam breather on obd2 cars as they are prone to leaks and make them run rough
  2. managed to get hold of one although strangely it came off an early mk4 but it works
  3. they both had the same numbers apart from the last letter however i took it to the dealership and it should have a unit with 3A0907375A on it and my two end with 379 both for sale if anyone needs one
  4. sister in law lives there was dropping off my daughter coz she stayed there for a fortnight due to school holidays
  5. where can i get a full version of vag com and a usb lead to connect to my laptop
  6. not long back from leicester i ended the 320 mile round trip with a figure of 40.7 on 95ron fuel but i have seen 47.6 on optimax obd2 owners should check the non return valve for the cam breather as it makes a big difference to fuel economy (when was the last time you changed it)
  7. i found t1r's to roll away at the edges too quickly aint tried the paradas running falken ze912's at the mo nice and grippy
  8. yeah i've put that back on its not caused by the new abs unit is it? does the master cylinder have a slide valve in it that needs resetting
  9. been using a brand new bosch diagnostic tool the local garage owes my dad a few hundred favours from his welding
  10. i've bled through 1.5 litres of fluid as it made sense to change the old fluid at the time and how the hell do you recode it
  11. anyone else apart from me and highline vr6 go to this one
  12. right here we go. got a 97 vr6 with an abs fault it reads as hydraulic pump not in parameters have changed pump unit for a known good complete unit but it has a different letter at the end of the part number now the bloody thing keeps the handbrake light permanently on. (argh its making my head hurt) is there a relay for firing the unit that i need to change coz i couldn't find any control boxes under the dash (its all apart at the mo) does anyone near me have vag.com to help fix/clear fault codes help please i miss driving it ;(
  13. its an mot failure if the abs unit is removed but it will pass if the light doesn't come on. totally mad i know but thats the law. i am also having a problem with the abs unit on the diagnostic machine it reads as hydraulic pump not within parameters so i have changed it but it still doesn't work and the handbrake light stays on all the time
  14. the cost of alloy though is much cheaper than these other materials and easier to mass produce the other option is to manufacture one from carbon weave and resin as this also dissipates heat quickly but also doesn't absorb heat as fast as metal. so if you are planning on making your own these factors are all things you need to take into consideration. will let you all know how my homebrew inlet turns out
  15. mild steel tends to hold heat alot more than alloy the best for dissipating heat is silver but the cost of a short runner intake would be immense. copper is also a good conductor of heat and cools down quickly.
  16. you getting the imo in there before you start world war 3 again. lol thinking about designing my own inlet plenum so thats why i was enquiring
  17. does the short runner intake need a certain cubic capicity for it to run smoothly or does it not matter much when your using boost
  18. i will be going again this year although won't be on the club stand got too many family members with dubs now i think we have about nine or ten family or friends cars going so we are gonna do our own club stand
