  1. Cheers guys. Getting there slowly.....very slowly haha
  2. They definitely sit right in the arches, don't they. Perhaps a 10mm space would do the trick. I guess I'd need different wheel blots in that case. What do you reckon?
  3. Cheers Nah, they are a Porsche colour. Kinda grey-blue
  4. Time for a small update. My mate has just upgraded his Corrado 24v VR with soime fancy new 17" Rotas and AP 4-pots, so his old wheels were going spare, and I thought it would be rude not to put them on the VR. Nice to finally get shot of the scabby standard BBS wheels and fit something a little bit bit different. Excuse the state of the car, she needs a bit of a wash.....
  5. Hey mate, has this car still got the shift light kit in it that I installed??
  6. I did wonder if you were venting to atmosphere. Is there any pipes attached to the wastgates as I didn't see any in the pics?
  7. Just read all 51 pages. Hats off, some impressive work gone into this.
  8. Not much going on, apart from another dodgy wiring issue. Front N/S ABS sensor fault on VAG-com, turned out to be a broken wire to the sensor. The insulation was intact, but the copper strands were broken. Replaced the pins in the plug and hey presto. Did that on Friday, as the MOT was on Saturday. Was pleased when if flew straight through that as well. Not even an advisory Next job is the chains. However, she's using a fair amount of oil which I suspect is tired valve stem seals. Have arranged a ABV block that has just come out of my mates Corrado (made way for a 2.8 24v). Will use that and
  9. Broken wiring for the O2 sensor, causing over/under fueling and misfire at idle and part throttle.
  10. Tis all fixed! Misfire has gone away. Dubiously short length on the wiring now though, so will fix that when the engine comes out in the next month or so
  11. Some terminals and a terminal extraction tool have arrived today, so hopefully we'll be rolling again later
  12. I did wonder if the signal from the 02 sensor wasn't good, it would'nt run in closed loop fuelling (idle/part throttle). The problem seems to go away at WOT. I've whipped the spark plugs out yesterday. Cyl 1,2 and 6 had a white deposit on the electrodes and were a little wet (ish), the other 3 looked ok. Found the cause of the DTC though...just need a new female terminal now....oh and a pin extraction tool...
  13. It seems our OBD2 VR is suffering from a rather bad misfire. It seems to be evident at idle and part throttle, but goes away under WOT. I've checked for DTCs with VAG-COM but only have one for a 02 sensor having no signal (00525 O2 Sensor). I was expecting at least to see a problem with the coilpack. I've taken the top plastic covers off that sits over the Coilpack and had a look for any obvious cracking on the top and sides, but nothing obvious, but I would expect the misfire to be there under heavy load/WOT if it were a cracked coilpack and indeed to have the MIL illuminated on the dash. Wou
  14. I never thought I'd be happy about fitting new number plates.... Before & After Made a huge difference. Pleasing in an unusual way! :-d Apart from that, not a lot has changed...
  15. So how do you get around using the standard Mk3 clocks, when the engine RPM coming from the ECU is over CAN?
  16. Has anyone done it? I see lots of people fitting the R32, but not sure if it's pretty much the same deal with regards to the wiring etc?? Thinking to retain the standard management, so I assume I'll need the clocks and pedal box for the CAN and DBW respectively? Cheers
  17. Was just after this myself, anyone got any clues?
